Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Listented to the Everton bit of the Times podcast with Joyce that he just tweeted out. He is of the opinion that it is unlikely Everton go after Dibling any further because they can't afford to go any higher and Southampton won't go any lower, while Grealish seems really difficult and there's no guarantee he would even want to move to Everton. He also didn't put forward any alternatives for those or any other positions.

I'm loathe to put too much stock into any one journalist's views, but jeez. Another week down, and where are we?
End of the day its just his view

He (like all of us) have no idea how much we can really spend.

TFG have got rid of our debt, brought in naming rights/sponsorship/sold women’s team/sold shares. So they are doing a lot of work to create more money to spend.

Perhaps we’ve gone as high as we can with Dibling.

Equally we know TFG will walk away from a deal to come back when other party gets nervous

It’s going to be a last minute scramble for incomings.
Wouldn’t surprise me if we bought Fellows and Richarlison on loan or similar.
Top class recruitment team though.

Best he's managed is speculative "Everton have an interest in Tyler Dibling/Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall" about a week before actual bids have landed. He's clearly still got some connections, but I think the club is far more of a closed shop now.

I also think in the Dibling case, local journalists are being fed very specific info on both sides as the PR war part of the deal goes forward. Only so much stock you can take in any of that stuff, but still. At this stage the Leeds game is probably a write off in terms of a RW/RB/Grealish/other CM, which isn't the end of the world. The Brighton game, on the other hand...

We are probably done now for the Leeds game.

I thought we'd get one in this week but that two might be pushing it. To be fair it doesn't seem like for want of trying with Dibling.

Things might go right to the wire for remaining signings. If Moyes is looking for another five in, it might be a stretch but who knows. I always tend to expect less so if we got decent options for RB RW and DM then I'd take that now. I'd still like a sprinkle of glamour on top though, maybe that's Grealish but we'll see.

They have still been left with an awful lot to do subject to fairly chaotic market conditions. For all the talk since Kinnears interview we've only added one more since, albeit one I like, so it's a little disappointing.

We've signed one player this week and the speed we conclude transfers we should probably be grateful that we got that one over the line without a hitch

The fact that the press were briefed on Sunday evening that Everton "were hopeful" of at least 1 major signing this week shows that we aren't the best at spinning plates and getting the signings boxed off

Thankfully off to the crocky trail today! Get out of this thread as be surprised again if any movement today and another week down and 1 starter in so far!

Let's hope it is going to be a busy few weeks and not scrambling around on deadline day for whatever scraps we can pick up on loan!

At least tomorrow is something to look forward to!! Cannot wait to see Baines and Pienaar linking up again.
