Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I think Barry will end up first choice. He’s not left CL football and first team La liga to sit on our bench behind Beto. We also didn’t pay 30 mill for a bench option. Barry Beto Chermiti is enough for one position.
We shall see. The latter two aren’t good enough, although chermiti may develop, although there’s been more talk of him being loaned out than there has him staying.

Max 4 per window.

So 4 this window, 2 in Jan.
That’s not my understanding when I’ve looked into it.

Max 2 domestic at any time (meaning potentially 4 in a season). (PL rules)

Up to 6 loans in total at any time as per FIFA’s rules. (Meaning 2 dom and 4 international, or 1 and 5 etc).

Do you think he’s our first choice striker? I don’t and I also don’t think Beto is good enough. They can’t go in to this season with only 2 strikers, can they?
Thing is, Beto, Barry, Chermiti are all abit to similar as strikers in the way they play and score goals from what scant evidence of that is available. Maybe we should go for something a little different - I hear that Maupay might be available on a cheeky loan?

Well thats not how I understood it, but its not very clear, ive never known any club to have more than 4 loans in 1 window, personally.

Also players under a certain age sometimes dont count.

As I say, its not very clear.

There’s no more important position than striker.
We're more light in other positions and considering we only play 1 up front we have 3 players who can play striker though granted Chermiti doesn't look up to it currently. There's no way Moyes and the transfer people are looking at bringing in a striker right now and even if they were there's not much out there for the money we'd have left in the budget after bringing in the other positions we're after first

A lot of it seems stylistic with Pep too. I'm not going to knock him after what he's won but not sure he quite knew how to fit Grealish in. But I suppose when you have Haaland, Foden, De Bruyne etc you can't just build your team to get the best out of Grealish.

Pep was always always always about system over player, it's why he didn't really mind losing Samuel Eto, Ronaldinho, and why his core at Barca had grown up in a system at Barca - only exception really was Messi who was just so out of the normal that he could show that individuality and pep couldn't stifle it.

Arguably Ferguson was very similar btw if you think about Rooney etc.
