Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Perhaps it’s time to accept that the ‘great reset’ needs to be deferred for a season.?
Concentrate on low hanging fruit , to give the coach , the numbers . Don’t overspend on wages , keep contracts as short as possible , to ensure we have a healthy amount for next season.
Ensure we have enough to stay clear of relegation and secure a mid table finish .
Let the new administration settle in , while the club settles into the new ground .
Improve the finances , better shirt sponsorship for example .
Allow the , now fully installed, recruitment team to identify a higher quality manager for next season , hopefully one whose presence will also help in attracting a better quality player.
The recruitment team can then work with this putative future coach in identifying the players we need so that we can hit the ground running when the season ends.
Start next season with proper intent .

Don't overspend on wages - why resign two oldies with one year deals - Coleman make him a coach & do his badges & Keane could have been used to nab a decent player ....

There’s still been improvement

Travers > Begovic
Aznou > Young
Barry > DCL
Alcaraz > Doucoure
KDH > Mangala

We need two wide players better than Harrison and Lindstrom and probably a backup striker that offers more than Broja did.

I still think we end this window with a much better squad than last season.

Estupinian came from Spain

Buonanotte has been shown the door

Enciso will never nail down a first team spot at Brighton

Neither of them will move on for a huge profit
Caicedo was freakishly good coming into the first team with almost no experience although Baleba has been similarly absurd.

Barco was incredibly disappointing.

Murillo is the last signing direct from South America that I recall being super successful.

Only the bottom two are definite. The others remain to be seen and are just speculative.

I think McAtee now makes the most sense after hopefully securing Dibling.
It sends a message that we're building a young, exciting team which is a big change from our normal MO.
Those two, along with Tez Baz and KDH really would bring a new flavour to the Toffees....much better than the humbugs we've had in the past.
Throw Grealish in on loan with a World Cup to aim for in his sights and we could be up off our new HDS seats more often than the last 40 years.
