Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

At this stage it's probably only KDH that gets done before Roma. Not good enough that. I expect us to have a behind closed doors friendly before Leeds but they need to ramp up recruitment ASAP.

I think this is the worst thing we can do. He’s five years older, 24 isn’t ancient but winger is a very young position so it’s pretty much peak for one. He also by all accounts was poorer last season than the one before, you don’t bet 50m that that is a blip and not a trend.

I’ve attached his transfermarkt market value graph, not scientific but reflects the declining trend in his performances. My major question would be- if no one wanted to trigger his 60m€ clause when his MV was about that, why on earth would we do it now it’s half that?
24 is peak for a winger…
Literally just making that up.

I really think signing Dibling has so many more upsides for other players in the team, rather than just getting a very good young player. His ability on the ball should create a lot more space for Ndiaye and forwards as defenders have more than a couple of players to mark out of games.

My main concern is that his career path/attributes suggests he'll end up playing more central. Not sure how happy he'll be to be a Right Winger where he'll be expected to put a shift in defensively?

This, also the old line of judge us at the end of the window is relevant here as we will make 4/5 more signings after KDH today. Let's wait and see who we get before slating the powers that be as lots of clubs have struggled to get deals done this summer.
lots of clubs haven't had the turn over we have needed how many weeks/months have we known we've needed a RB and RW and if we have a crap start and Motes again comes out with we either didnt get the players needed or we got then in far to late to get them fit and into the system of play before everyone kicks off again.
I agree about not rushing in but we just dont seem to be able to get the players for a starting eleven sorted Moyes has said ne needs a right winger and we will start against Leeds with a player playing out of position yet again.

It’s a balance isn’t it. The top players don’t want to come. Moyes doesn’t want players who aren’t good enough. The club doesn’t want to over pay on targets. Fans want bodies through the door and very good ones. The manager and fans want them as soon as possible. Some of the better ones might only come available at the end of the window.

I’ve said before that if Everton had wanted to sign Longstaff Coufal Callum Wilson Brownhill and Fellows we could have probably done all that business early doors. We have tried to sign better, we maybe set sights too high and it now sounds like we’re stuck at the next group of players trying to balance all of the above conflicting pressures.

We can still come out of this window very strongly and then we might look back and be glad we didn’t give in and buy a load of dross or massively overpay.
