Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Baffles me.

Baffled me in April;

... and I still don't get it now.

Feels like they/TFG have tried to do too much, too soon.

Sure, action>words, but action for action sake?

We've already failed to some degree in bringing in players we needed for adequate pre-season, so lets hope we find our feet before the window closes.

Just once it would be nice to start a season well though, because we all have PTSD an if we start slowly, we'll all be antsy.
As was rumoured to have happened in Jan - Thelwell had players lined up and Moyes didn’t want them.
That is counter-productive - so made sense to get rid.

The club's a basket case of mismanagement.

If that stadium had been left to the idiots who make player side decision making it'd be a shed tumbling into the Mersey.

It's just not good enough. We're medieval on recruitment and have been since Moyes Mk I - and now he's just a flabby old moaner who hires tat like McKinlay to do a terrible job at scouting...one he should be doing if he hadn't turned into a flabby old get with zero intent.
We've been poor at recruiting well before that, the signing of Tony Cottee was the start of out decent from a top club.. We have had a few big hits but in the most part it's been misses. I'd argue that Moyes MK 1 was a decent period in comparison to more than a decade before , Cahill Arteta Pienaar.

Cottee scored loads of goals for us; it wasn't his fault the rest of his team mates weren't up to his standards.

It’s mad that we tried to bring Tete in first, clearly acknowledging it was a priority position, and then when that fell through we seemingly had absolutely no one else on our list so just didn’t bother. What is the plan?
He was on a free so an opportunity arose. Maybe it isn’t/wasn’t a priority.
So many priorities!

They saw him as being a package deal with Dyche.

It was clear they wanted both out and their man Kinnear on.
It's conjecture though Dave, just as likely Kinnear was hired to call the shots and he got rid of Thelwell because of Moyes' demonstrable attitude in this regard, no?
