Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Clubs dont pay the loan players wages. The club who hold the players registration charge an all in fee.

See Rashford who dropped his United wages to get the Barca move -- they pay United a single fee.
Not sure about that, explain Harrison for last two seasons then, there was no fee but you can be sure we paid his wages.
I suspect there is no set rule it depends what suits each club.

We would have paid a fee to Leeds which would have covered the wages % on the deal.

The club's a basket case of mismanagement.

If that stadium had been left to the idiots who make player side decision making it'd be a shed tumbling into the Mersey.

It's just not good enough. We're medieval on recruitment and have been since Moyes Mk I - and now he's just a flabby old moaner who hires tat like McKinlay to do a terrible job at scouting...one he should be doing if he hadn't turned into a flabby old get with zero intent.

Chaos mate,

Hire a team of unique operators to do Thelwell's job to a poorer degree.

Utter clown like governance.

...but TFG *know* what they're doing....
TFG wouldn't have called the shots imo, they pay people to do that and ultimately take responsibility. I just hope they realise how important the current player investment is with PSR as it stands.

TFG actively spun against Thelwell, sided with Moyes and kicked him out the door.

Now here we are with him getting bargains for his new club and us paying £30M+ for inconsistent sloths and 'ones for the future'.

Thelwell ? Well, well, well...Wonder why we got rid without an adequate transition during a critical period...

Baffles me.

Baffled me in April;

For the past couple of years, I've shared my view that this summer - a summer under new owners at Bramley Moore, will be our most important in Premier League era.

An opportunity for a rebuild, and lightning bolt through the club.

But I'm struggling to understand who will be responsible for that recruitment.

As in, ultimately responsible.

Is it TFG centralised structure/wider hierarchy?

Or is it localised?

Is it Moyes?

Why is a CEO, bringing in a transfer consultant with him from Leeds? The very fact press are reporting it's not a direct replacement for Thelwell says a lot.

So far, I'm thinking it's my own lack of understanding, but it would be nice to have a clearer picture soon on who is making the decisions on which footballers are coming in.

... and I still don't get it now.

Feels like they/TFG have tried to do too much, too soon.

Sure, action>words, but action for action sake?

We've already failed to some degree in bringing in players we needed for adequate pre-season, so lets hope we find our feet before the window closes.

Just once it would be nice to start a season well though, because we all have PTSD an if we start slowly, we'll all be antsy.

What are you going on about - you drunk? McKinley has nothing to do with scouting he's a coach!!!!

I said it before but it feels like there hasn't been any transition between the old and the new. Most of the old was very bad but recruitment wasn't really, it was decent enough in areas and Thelwell picked up some good players during that period. TFG have come in and put a very blunt end to everything and a blunt start to everything which I don't think is very wise.

Do we have proof of that ? I can understand Moyes having his finger-prints all over it with his history like, but it's still conjecture.
