Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Obviously this week will only see the arrival of KDH. Disappointing, but it is what it is.

It's a shame we're going into the season with no proper right back and no right winger at all ready to start for us—criminal in fact.

The fact we've apparently been chasing Dibling at a high price at least gives hope that there is substantial money available to fill these slots, but the recruitment has been shocking at best so far and I'm not sure I trust the club to get it right.

Let's see. At this stage KDH and a right winger would at least convince me we're not in for a relegation fight, although that's hardly something to be happy about.
We want two RW apparently. Maybe we should focus on getting the back up in so at least we have numbers.

We could play Garner as a right wing back if he plays 3 at the back.

He did it because he had to in the USA, but not a good idea to change preferred formation just to accommodate the fact you haven’t recruited where you needed to.

The fact we haven recruited a RB again to me is astonishing, it’s gross negligence.

It’s mad that we tried to bring Tete in first, clearly acknowledging it was a priority position, and then when that fell through we seemingly had absolutely no one else on our list so just didn’t bother. What is the plan?

rangers paid £2M to Sheff Wed for what looks like a very exciting player - Gassama.

These are the type of signings Moyes used to do when he was a proper manager doing the scouting.

Also we’re the only club on that list without anyone that can play on the right wing.

I wish people would stop comparing our business to everyone else. It’s pointless, we’re in a totally different situation to everyone else.
It's the ongoing excuse to say we have enough and we go with what we've got by comparing us to other clubs on incomings! It will also be pushed out by the club, if not already, that the market is over priced and other clubs have also struggled to do the required business.

A way of trying to pretend that our window has been a 7-8 out of 10 rather than a 3-4 out of 10, thus far.

Maybe it wasn’t and they just saw the opportunity there for a decent player on a free and went for it

Very exciting player but only rangers interested in him. Considering your dim view of rangers, it’s not really a convincing argument that Moyes should be going for him.

He knows Patterson isn’t up to it, he also knows Coleman is now a well paid cheerleader.

Leaving Jake as our only choice at RB is bizarre, especially as you said it was one of the first areas they targeted to get somebody in.

Plus if one of the CB’s are injured we are back to using calamity Keane.

I really expected more this pre-season in way of planning and professionalism.

Just looks like same old same old at the moment.

WTF do rangers have to do with it if he was at Sheff Wed at the time?

He's a Championship player the likes of which we should be going for.

Where's the scouting interest from Moyes and McKinlay?

WTF is McKinlay even doing here if an SPL club can see what he cant?

So there was no plan then and we’re just picking up whatever becomes available as we go along?
No, there is clearly a priority list of positions. Forward, CM, RW. The ones we have been heavily linked with players for all window and are making pretty big bids for.

But if the opportunity arises where a decent player may be available on a free or cheap, do you want them to ignore that until they get their top priority positions in?

I’m not saying they don’t want to bring in a RB, we have been linked to others since, but the clear priorities are the positions I’ve said and they need to navigate the budget available with getting them done and then looking at what’s left.
