I’m going off the times story and you are assuming they can recoup the full 300k. They want to recoup as much of the 300k per week as possible, hence the 12m for the season.

They’d still be paying 70k per week wages but they have little choice as no one is interested given his salary and their asking price (40m).

They are saying they want 12m for the season to cover most of the package.

‘But Everton will have to pay £12million to sign the forward on loan. That is a huge price to have Grealish for just one season.
