Such a busy week , most days it was about 1 hour 50:mins to get to the different locations , all the while travelling on narrow roads, some single tracks and over some of the most spectacular Mountain View’s in the UK ……and that was before I started my run and then travelled back home. There were about 2700 competitors and as ever it was good to see people from all over the UK that I hadn’t seen in many years. Good morning all on the cloudless one here . I hope all slept as well as I did ! Well that was a surprise when I got up and saw the result .Off to the shops later and Matt wants to treat us to a Nepalese meal but we don't eat a lot at lunch time ,it is so hard for me to type that,what I really mean is dinner time -around midday . We had a dicussion on Trump renaming The gulf of Mexico as Matt was confused ,I told him not to concern himself as they had already changed a tomato into a fruit many years ago .

From 8 to 9 take a bearing with your compass from the path , go carefully and slowly through the forest , and if you reach a large patch of bracken , green lines on the map , it means you’ve gone too far . Turn around and go back . Well that’s what I should have done 🤷‍♂️🙂

Storm Floris is just starting to build up the wind and rain here . I’ve picked up one broken pot so far , checked around everything to make sure nothing moving about . 30 mph with 50 mph gusts at the moment , apparently going to 50 with 80 mph gusts later as the Amber warning kicks in.

It’s been rearranging the garden furniture, bins , pots etc , half an hour ago it was a very strong but warm wind and sunny day, now it’s gone up to a ferocious 80 mph with driving rain . Most things battened down now , worst wind we’ve ever experienced as we’re very exposed at the back with open fields . Hopefully I don’t need to go out again 🤞

Hope you’re all ok up there - we had strong wind and heavy rain and our power went off for a short while but thankfully that was the worst of it.
 
Good morning all on this cloudy day here ,we lost the power for a few minutes yesterday in a thunder storm then we heard a bang ,no idea where it came from but we had no water .The tank had blown up /ripped apart so I am off to get a new one as soon as the plumber wakes up and sends the order through ,it is one nut so I hope I can do it before he gets home to save him the job .
I hope all had a good night away from damage and mayhem and wake to a calmer day ,anyone who doesn't think the weather is changing must have lost power .

Morning everyone,

Been a crap start to the week.

2 more false alarms with mum's fall alarm and then irony of ironies it didn't go off when she did fall. Even worse I was in the same room changing her bedding at the same time.

It all happened in slow motion, she just over balanced using her wheeler and I was too slow and couldn't catch her.

She reopened the wound on her shin which took months to heal last year. I've cleaned and dressed it but can I get an urgent district nurse visit ? Can I hell.....maybe Friday! GP won't do dressings..."what about going to A&E?" Are you mad, as if I m going to have her sat with the pissed dregs of society for 6 hours.

I'm so fed up. I can't provide a safe environment for mum , she doesn't / can't listen to advice and instructions and the onerous nature of looking after her is just too much .

I've contacted the local authority yet again to try to get her into a care home ....."we will get back to you for a re-assessment, she's on the amber list ".

Sorry rant over .
