Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

From Bobble last night....

Kevin:
Tyler Dibling

Everton are locked into negotiations with Southampton for 19 year old Tyler Dibling. The Championship club’s resolve is admirable as they continue to squeeze every last pound out of a deal for their Academy crown jewel. Everton’s initial valuation was ‘a long way off’ Southampton’s price tag, as former 777 employee Johannes Spors (now Group Technical Director at Southampton) has proven to be a tough nut to crack. As reported, a deal is currently being negotiated in excess of £35 million, with Southampton holding firm for a guaranteed £40 million plus add ons and clauses (which is why you are now seeing figures such as £50 million now being pushed out). After more talks, the structure of the deal is yet to be agreed at the point of writing, but both clubs internally believe a deal is not far away with a discrepancy of around £3.5 million. Currently neither club are yet to budge, but as is typical in these types of scenarios, there is some grandstanding being played out within the media. The 19 year old is keen for the move to be concluded but it is believed he is respectful of his current club’s need to get the best terms possible. Talk of Everton potentially walking away from the deal is currently premature, and Everton are remaining patient in talks as both clubs are working towards a resolution. Talks are still very much at an advanced stage with a breakthrough still hopeful.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - Chelsea

Everton have pivoted (yes even i'm getting bored of that word now). The pursuit of James McAtee stalled after Manchester City raised the valuation from £25 million after believing other deals were being concluded at a much higher value for a similar profile of player. Therefore, Everton have turned their attention to Dewsbury-Hall. As reported on the media round up show, Chelsea are very keen to get a deal finalised as quickly as possible and talks have advanced at pace. Dewsbury-Hall is already in talks with Everton over personal terms, with the two clubs now in agreement over the structure of a deal that could reach just under £30 million (initial fee of £25 million). Everton’s newly formed committee believe KDH is an instant impact signing that improves the Everton line-up immediately, whilst adding balance to the team being left-footed. Surprisingly to some, it’s been a clear run on KDH (other than Fulham showing minor interest) with no other club in the running for the former Leicester man. Everton are hopeful of completing this deal over the coming days, and a medical is now being scheduled after KDH was permitted to travel to Merseyside.

Jack Grealish - Manchester City

The interest remains. Everton are currently front runners for the 29 year old. Everton have held talks with Manchester City over a loan deal with the belief that a deal is still there to be had. As previously reported, talks with Grealish went well and the finances involved have not dampened Everton’s hope of securing this premium loan. Regardless of the two deals above, this is still on David Moyes’ wish list before the window closes.

Dion Lopey - Almeria

The Spanish club have slapped a €20 million price tag on the deep-lying midfielder. Everton have watched the 23 year old but are yet to make a bid, contrary to some reports.

James Justin - Leicester City

The Leicester man has been circulated and offered to Everton. The Foxes want Justin, who has 1 year remaining on a lucrative contract signed in 2022, off the books. It currently remains to be seen if Everton will make an offer for the right back.

Tyler Onyango and Roman Dixon

As Onyango returns back from the USA with the Everton first team, and Dixon's foot injury recovering well, both players are still expected to finalise moves to Stockport County.

Summarising it, we are close to signing Dibling, KDH was us changing targets from Mcatee due to price rise by City, we've looked at some cm and been offered a RB - nothing concrete from us with either, nothing else imminent, we are still hopeful of a Grealish loan.

So weve gone for KDH over McAtee.

How do you feel about this?

If we can get Dewsbury -Hall and another decent central midfielder I'd be more confident in our ability to stay away from the bottom 3. I'd rather have had McAtee because he can unlock defences whereas KDH iis your standard run around a lot midfielder, but we don't currently have many of those either.

Only thing that is weird to me is if we are willing to pay 40 plus for Dibling, why not pivot and meet Citeh's asking price for McAtee? Hes definately the better playet right now...can only think hes planning on being elsewhere..
Yeah
I was surprised to read this .
I would have preferred McAtee.
But , as you say , perhaps the player preferred to go elsewhere ( I think Dortmund has been mentioned as a possible destination?)

True, he probably doesn't want to join us, at the moment we are not attractive due to the last few years.

If accurate, then short term KDH right at this moment is more ready to play week in week out, long term I'd prefer Mcatee as think he can be a very special player once he finds a central role at a team.

I'd hope that should the price drop then we may be back in for him - after all it's not like we'd be overloaded if we brought in both and it's given great options.

Can see why the club has acted on KDH though, we had to bring in a player in the centre who can receive the ball and can actually pass - and the two players are actually not massively dissimilar in truth.

Summary disappointed if we miss bringing him in, but still happy about getting KDH - who actually is far better than you'd think.

Both would be very good in a Moyes system though.

If we get Dibling and KDH then can't cry arsee too much really as it's be two good deals the club needs.

Biggest annoyance is @Nymzee won't let me forget about it 😂

Doucoure always used to get in our team under different managers, despite being rank at football, because of what he offered when it came to pressing. Dewsbury-Hall's pressing game is similar to Doucoure's, but is an excellent ball carrier. He has really good close control and strength and operates in tight spaces. He is a clever passer and contributes goals. Like Doucoure he plays as either or a 10 or an 8.

He is an excellent choice for the Doucoure replacement (and watching him won't make my eyes bleed, unlike Doucoure). McAtee is a good player, but to me, signing KDH alongside Dibling is much more sensible and exciting than signing McAtee to pivot between the RW and 10 positions.
