Sticking my neck out, I think we will sign Dibling, also obviously still think Mcatee will be bought, I do feel like Fofana is gonna arrive also - I think his options are running out for a CL premier League move. Not sure who we buy at right back but think one will be brought in late. And can see us going for an out and out defensive midfielder - no idea who though.

So yeah I'm thinking comfortably over 200 closer to 250 spent.

So you think will sign Dibling, KDH, McAtee AND Fofana?

In real terms, I don't think we have any real limitations of spending this summer whatsoever as long as we dont start throwing out 120-150k contacts to everyone again.

We'd have huge headroom without the stadium move, the new stadium and revenue and sponsorship means that a huge spend this summer isn't just a one and done type of thing either.

If the price is 50m definitely walk away. They will 100% accept less if no one else comes in, maybe return to the deal later on. But if we were spending 50m on one player surely we could look at some players who are further along in their development.

Branthwaite had more experience at the time and was capped by full England national team.

I don’t have a problem quoting what they want his their player, it’s the shifting of the goal posts if those reports are true.

If they value him at £45m then two days later it’s £50m then you have to say no

If we get the 2 we have been linked with over the last few days then this window will be starting to look decent.. After that a good RB should be priority..

I pointed out in the Dibling thread that Saints have been entirely consistent in their ask and their local media reports show it. It has always been minimum £40m fixed fee and up to £50m including add-ons. Different folks in nationals/other media putting different ideas out there does not make it true.

What I am trying to say is Madueke (initial fee £48.5m rising to £52.5m) is a proven PL player and a full international while this kid is a prospect.

They can’t be worth similar amount of fee hence we should not be held to ransom.
