Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Please explain how we can sustain PSR like I’m 5.
PSR is calculated on your profit / losses over the last 3 years

21/22 our losses were 44.7 mil
22/23 our losses were 89.1 mil
23/24 our losses were 53 mil

the club must therefore be confident that 24/25 accounts will be much improved on the 21/22 losses of 44.7 mil and that the forecast for 25/26 will be significantly much better than the 22/23 losses made in the amount of 89.1 mil

First season at Roma,Roma actually were in need of a serious rebuild and they spent just over 100m.

What's your magic number on them spending here Dave, give it so if it's reached you can say ok they invested heavily
I said the other day that if they spend what @Goat said (£150M) I'd eat my hat...but that's what's needed...net spend.

You see, even the club knew this was an "unprecedented" summer window.

Because we let go players into the double figures. Ergo...

So your tiny mind can’t cope with the fact we might have 2 players less than we had last season?

Regardless of the fact that we would have enough players for what we need up until January.

We had a small squad anyway. Losing double digits from it this summer necessitates more than 10 in. Minimum.

We have 3 in right now, so they need to get their skates on and wallets out...

How can we afford spending 100m this summer?
£100m on say 4 year contracts is only (!) £25m amortisation per year. We will have probably saved more than that per year in hard cash terms just on interest costs after TFG re-jigged our finances/loans. That’s before higher matchday revenue (not totally game changing as will come with increased costs -someone has to hand those do-nuts out), sponsorship, naming rights, women’s team sell-off etc. We can go quite big if we are careful.

Indeed, with all that we may be 80-100m better off than last season. We could go spend 200m if we wanted to, I just dont think we will.

People forget how much just the interest on those loans was hurting us against PSR. It was over 40m.

KDH probably isn’t the signing we were all hoping for in midfield but he’s certainly a solid option and is an upgrade on Garner which imo is the main thing for our midfield; now we’ll have someone half decent operating next to Gana.

We could still do with another CM (I’d like Merlin Rohl or Rocco Reitz from the Bundesliga-both Germany U21) but for now we need to go first and foremost for a RW then RB.
I hope the board sack off Dibbling if the price nears the 50 mark and try for Kubo again if Fofana really doesn’t want us.
