Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

This happens all the time at this club, lots of false postering about how things are going to change and then there’s slow erosion of the original statement over a period of time which is then accepted by fans and excuses are made until it gets to November and the realisation hits home that they lied to us again.
Not really. Moyes said he wanted elite players (didn’t promise them).
He has now said a few times he isn’t happy with the pace of signings and that we aren’t getting them done.

But he also isn’t the one negotiating.

His stance hasn’t changed. He is still talking about wanting us to get back to competing with the likes of the RS (ie the current champions) and if you watch his interviews or actually read them rather than just reading the tagline to an article, he sounds as frustrated and annoyed as we all do.

This is true, but it doesn’t matter to people who just want to be panic merchants.

You realise that in the last 8 or so months there is a new manager, entirely new ownership and recruitment team?

Who is the “they” lying to us? Moreover, why would anybody go to great expense, the chronic faff of financing, due diligence, recruitment, etc, in order to hoodwink a bunch of frustrated arl fellas on the internet?

Very clearly things aren’t happening nearly as quickly as we’d like them to, but I can categorically promise you that it’s not down to some shadowy cabal who spend hundreds of millions of pounds just to troll high blood pressure footy fans for the LOLZ.

I suspect, the only two players we MIGHT get who are major signings, are Grealish or Fofana (the latter very unlikely), and they will likely only be resolved at the end of the window. Biggest deal we might see before then would be Dibling or Dewsbury-Hall, I reckon.
Fofana won't register as a major one in reality, Grealish would obviously, think Mcatee would as well as he's very hyped up in the media.

Maddison apparently got a horror injury in pre season, not to be insensitive but we need to secure dibling right now because it’s written in the stars that they’ll move for either dibling or McAtee
Alternately, let them move for the one they want and we can get the guy who misses out.

You’re wasting your time mate. Guy is thick and just wants to remain negative

People questioning his stats and the potential fee, should remember we signed a player from Watford who was two years older, for 50 million all in who had a record of 5 goals in 41 games.

Absolutely nuts to criticise goals and assists for a 19 year old player. The whole point of these type of signings, is to get them in after showing signs of obvious talent, before they improve to the point they become impossible for us to bring in.

IF he signs, it’ll be a coup and it’ll be good watching him grow and improve (chances are he will, only question mark is to what degree), wearing a blue shirt. If he ends up giving us a similar output over the next few years that Richarlison ended up doing for us then we’ve bagged a winner.

I’m picturing Dan Friedkin trawling football fan sites looking for the perfect target.

And then he settled on Everton after seeing @davek and @Bally1989 posting histories
