Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

At least he knows what a relegation battle looks like. Given our lack of signings putting someone like Dibling in the team is a bit unfair on a young lad.

All true. But as a fanbase, it's the so-called "pessimists" who have the outstanding track record of predictions over the last 30 years. The "optimists" are still back in 1995 predicting the rebirth of our great club whilst shining up the FA Cup.
I think this sums it up really well, most fans have been so conditioned to the way things have been that we can’t see any positivity for Everton’s future.

I understand we’ve got a budget and there are a number of players we need to get in. Appears like we’re being far too hesitant though.

We all know we urgently need a right winger and a central midfielder. Having good ones would transform the team. If we have to overpay by Ā£5m or so for those positions to get those in then that’s what we should have done. Then we’d accept that we might have to accept players filling other positions might be lesser quality on loans, frees etc.

We also shouldn’t be hanging around waiting for players who aren’t sure that they want to join us. If players think they’re better than us then all that’ll happen is 12-18 months down the line they’ll be making a fuss about leaving. I don’t mind players seeing us as a way of progressing but they must at least want to play for us to do that.

It’s hard not to be concerned with the way we seem to have approached things.

I sincerely hope the Brownhill rumours are just that - made up by idle clickbaiters. He ticks every box for the player we absolutely should NOT be going for.
If we sign him now, it means the recruitment team has failed...he could have been signed early in the window really if he was part of the thinking which would have been much better with more depth in the squad for the friendlies.

How have they failed? They have a list they are going down the list, you can’t force players to come

I will never understand how we’ve just avoided bringing in a right back for years. Has someone accidentally written Coleman in permanent marker on the team planning whiteboard? Better fullbacks and a midfielder who could pick out a forward pass would completely change how we play.
Yes there a sign in FF saying

Thou shall not buy any right side players
Thou shall not buy anyone with pace

Signed
Kopite Kenwright

They failed because if he was on the list, he should have been here July 1st at least to fill the squad...perhaps not as first 11, but decent option off the bench...we need to be efficient and stop wasting valuable time which we have been doing for months now...
