Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

The crap thing is, theres an order for a signing here. Seems first Bobble gets a sniff, thats an entire day, next day maybe medical news, then silence. Following days panic on if they'll get swooped from us, then another two or three days of media crap until they ultimately sign.
Tbf 3 of our 4 deals were announced the same day as the medicals were completed so they are getting quicker on that front

No excuses my friend we have had months now, we let two players go who could play there. I get waiting for quality to an extent but you need players in positions too as a minimum, its literally madness to me to go into a season like this. But Everton.
Who are the two RWs we have 'let go' mate? If you're referring to Conceicao and Bakayoko, they weren't 'let go'. I understand we tried for both, but their heads were turned by other clubs playing CL footy.

Agenda-related semantics there.

No I mean Harrison and Lindstrom were let go who played right wing last season(even though neither is a genuine right winger either). I get players have said no to us but we could have got a player by now who can play naturally on the right because we need two not just one. Right wing has become a blindspot like RB has been for years with us making do. Then we wonder why we struggle, I get we have had financial problems I also get we aren't first choice for many players but ultimately we are months deep now if not years where we have needed a right winger. Calling me entitled doesn't change the fact we have no natural right winger as it stands.

The worst thing is that these higher calibre players can be bought for fair price.

Conceicao - €32m
Bakayoko - €18m

Does anyone know why we can't do deals at a weekend? Right now the club needs every hour possible. It's this type of dithering that I cannot understand. Every weekend things go dead so there must be a reason. Buying players shouldn't be a Mon - Fri policy.

And neither of those players would choose Everton over the clubs they ended up at so moot point.
You don’t know how much wages they were offered by this club. Maybe the recruitment team say no to player (like Bakayoko’s) demand? The other guy we have no chance he has gone to Juv.

You just say players out their are affordable, listed Conceicao & then just wrote we had no chance of getting ffs 😂

Can’t win on here honestly.

We agreed both the Travers and Anzou deals on a weekend

So I agree in principle with this, certainly you can’t judge til it’s done but points in August are exactly the same value as may and given how tight things have been recently a couple of wins could be huge
That's a fairpoint mate, but I fear the reality facing us is that we are forced into a trade off.

If we want a chance to get our highest priority players in this window, we pretty much have to accept that we will be running a big risk in the August fixtures, in terms of the squad. There is also the risk that we don't get (any of) the players we want, and that's the gamble to weigh up. I wouldn't be surprised if that's how the recruitment and management team are now thinking.

The flip side is that we fill up now with 2nd / 3rd choice / uninspiring signings for the sake of (maybe) saving a few points in August, but then we're stuck with them for a few seasons and have spent a vital part of our warchest that was reserved for quality players.

So it's whether you take a short term or long term view.
