Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

….that is a matter of opinion, I’ve also never been impressed. Another ordinary, vastly overrated player Chelsea paid over the odds for.
That’s fine if that’s your opinion and reason for saying no. Saying not to sign someone because he can’t get in the England side is a bad reason.

Wouldn't surprise me if someone whose recently left comes back because we're so short.

FAs aren’t a miracle option.

Most aren’t great (hence free agents)
The rest want inflated wages (hence free agents)

Example: DCL

Sometimes there are solid options, but they are also wanted by lots of clubs, and so Everton would run into the same recruiting problem (no CL, etc.)

That’s fine but we aren’t signing any midfielders for money either and we need 3 as it stands to be competitive in that area.

Well, that’s from September 2024 so isn’t even relevant in the slightest. If we’re doing the hypothetical thing, try and find something that is in a little bit relevant to our current situation. Which is the fact we’ve got a squad of 17 senior players.

Mike, I promise you if we start the season with no new signings, I will complain just as much as you.

You should be called George you're that Wham.
You and credibility don't really belong in the same sentence.
Is this what you say to everyone with a different opinion, I`m not even calling you uneducated now because you come across as a proper idiot.

Perhaps get back on topic, you don`t know me, just as well because I probably wouldn`t mix with tits like you. You`ve probably forgotten why you started this vendetta, time to trawl all your old posts...

Cretin!
Knock it off and behave

This window has been an absolute drag, I am not buying the spin about the players we have bought in which are mostly potential and Alcaraz was in the squad already, we are painfully short. We have very little on a bench even if everyone is fit, our midfield lacks physicality and control, our right wing lacks pace, our best right back is a center back and our first choice aren't fit, It's very worrying. Need at least two in by Leeds, and I have no confidence in that!? Moyes always went late and the recruitment team isn't fully in place also take the point we aren't many players first choice. But there are players out there other clubs attain them, it feels like we should have got some actual players to build the squad up in areas like right wing and midfield regardless of waiting till the last minute for deals that may never happen.

What are you on about? You’re the one who started making up hypothetical reactions I would’ve had in May to things. Why don’t we go back to talking about the fact it’s August and we have 17 senior players on the books? I’d be fine with Brownhill as a signing right now because we’ve bought no midfielders and have the worst set of midfield options in the league.
Isn’t settling for the likes of Brownhill a reason we never progress.?
Once signed their wages consume a significant part of our expenditure for 2/3 seasons , they are difficult to sell on and upgrade , delaying any improvements.
We have been bemoaning the quality of our squad for seasons to the point many were celebrating the expiry of players contracts as a chance to improve.
Settling for low quality players, when there is still a month of the transfer window left would be a retrogressive act .
