Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I don't remember being impressed at all with him in the match against us at the end of the season.
He was poor that day, tbf. He's been very good in other games. He still a teenager, he's not the finished article. If we buy him for the money talked about then we're paying for his potential not his current abilities. It's deffo a gamble but he's young, quick, good on the ball and is an actual right winger.

Well if the recruitment team recruit players needed but he throws a hissy fit as they are too young then I honestly don't care. He's not head of recruitment and recruiting for short term manager appointments is part of our past problems.
Every man and his dog for some reason now tries to recruit young players. What you need is a blend, and you especially need experience if you want to outperform.

There is this fantasy now that every team can develop players and sell them on for big profits. Sounds like a pyramid scheme to me.

That part market is overcrowded with buyers now and there is a lack of actual good youth development for local kids, a lack of decent reserve football to make said kids strong enough to go up a level and there is a lack of ambition by a lot of clubs to be anything more than feeder organizations.

What a window so far. Part talent-spotting masterclass, part existential crisis.

We’re signing/trying to sign players with bags of potential—young, exciting talents that in better times we’d be absolutely buzzing about. But because the squad’s currently held together with hope and duct tape, that excitement is tinged with cold, creeping dread… or sopping wet sheets depending on your choice of humour.

And it ain’t even August.. yet

Genuinely. The quality of player we've been linked with has been the best window for absolutely forever. We're just not really signing them haha. We can only really judge in September if it was the right call or not to aim high, but I do like it more than not even bothering.

It’s an improving picture for sure. We need some proper pace in midfield. Garner Gueye as a two will leave gaps. We saw under Dyche in the derby how Onana and Doucoure for all their limited technique put it about and knocked Liverpool around. Luiz would certainly be an upgrade in that position if we could get that over the line.
Luiz is going to Forest
