Both were very "statroom" signings for what it's worth - Gueye was basically second in everything behind Kante that year (and even first in some things) and Pickford was a great shot stopper and had shown fantastic reflexes.

How? We bid (mull) over two CL level RW's for 2 plus weeks then suddenly chuck a random half arsed bid on a left winger despite moyes saying no one wants to come here- if we always wanted Dibling why not bid weeks ago and save moyes melt down?

Probably right and as I said earlier, we should start a long term plan of buy, develop, sell…
These players are more obtainable for us than going for the hyped premium players.

As much as many seem to want to recreate the disaster that was summer 2017, we should be sensible with a clear strategy but with moyes sounding off in the press, it’s not making the club an attractive option for the players we need to survive this season

Totally agree we’re not there yet, we sadly need a few years of stability, Europe before we can push on
