Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

We are about 2 weeks away from panic buys just for us to try and stay out of the relegation battle. I really never imagined this happening this summer
It was guaranteed to happen, we didn't have structures in place to make the planning on these signings. Many of these are agreed before the window even begins.

It was always going to be this way, Thelwell had checked out long ago and was doing bargain bin signings for Rangers. I noticed he hasn't tried to take Patterson back....

I don’t know whether I can be arsed with another backs against the wall conceding 70% possession to the opposition grind of a season trying to hit 40 points as early as possible if I’m honest with you. Makes me hate the sport, it’s exhausting.
We'll get that regardless unless the players we bring through the door are quality ones that will actually improve us.

Generally, I share your stance about our football over the last number of seasons though. Just hasn't been very exciting to watch at all.

DM is correct we need more than one star signing after last night its 3-4 & I would keep Harrison Armstrong as he looked the best in a ragged midfield not on big money player is enough for us IMO ....

Maybe slightly off topic but I totally agree with this. I've got through the last couple of years with gritted teeth thinking it's a means to an end; stay up, get through to the new ownership and new ground, then reset and start making the game enjoyable again. It's one of the reasons I wasn't massively happy with bringing Moyes back even though I've always been a fan, but I really can't be doing with us carrying on being an anachronism in terms of style of play and the way we do things, it drains you.

This summer was a big opportunity that you don't get very often to do a full overhaul of the squad. We've made a complete mess of it.
Again though - there's still time left. I just really don't want to go in hard on the club yet knowing that things clearly haven't been straightforward so far for one reason or another..

I've been encouraged by the level of player that we've been linked with - the correct level we need to be targeting for this rebuild. It just obviously hasn't been as quick/easy as we'd perhaps mistakenly hoped..
