Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Wholeheartedly agree with that. That's the main reason I've been trying to be patient this summer and hold out hope that we will get things over the line eventually.

Easy to say we need players NOW and just get in whoever will join. Whole point of this summer was to rebuild and raise standards. The amount of players needed means that if we sign average players we are stuck with them for 4 years, and would be moshiri era all over again.
This, next summer will be the first summer in god knows how long were we wont be putting bunting out to get people off the wage bill

Exactly my stance as well.

My overriding feeling is that unless we really try hard in the market to target/bring in these players to raise such standards, then ultimately all we'll ever do is just stand still at best anyway....

I think the most likely scenario is the executive team has overestimated our current pull when agreeing targets with Moyes and is getting rebuffed without being ready/able to offer more £ to change one or two minds.

We must be near the point where Moyes just insists they implement whatever his back-up plan is eg Soucek, Brownhill, Coufal (possibly even Harrison heaven help us) or similar all improve the squad and at least a couple would start so go get them today then carry on chasing a whale or two until the window closes.

It isn’t ideal and it would not really move us forward unless we actually land one or two top targets late but Moyes is pragmatic and competitive so he won’t want to mail it in for a relatively favourable first 3 games before the window closes IMO.

They own the club, saved us from going bankrupt, or sold to cowboys, paid off massive loans, finished the stadium and now started to remove the useless people who work at Everton with much better people, and given the club money to spend but yeah Fin useless
Spend spend spend, have we started yet.
If you read my post you just might see that I said they were good on the business side, fkn usleless on the footballing side.
The way the transfer team are going it doesn’t look to me and many others on here that they are “employing much better people” jeez.
Grumpy by name👍

I'd certainly hope not anyway.

Any manager who internally just writes the first few games of the season off because 'I don't have the players' is a cop-out. Be arsed with that. You still have a matchday squad there mate so crack on..

Just to add on to that previous post about us only spending above 1 million on a right back once. Our right wing has been chronically neglected forever also. Is our most expensive right side ever Patterson and Walcot? Or am I missing someone
I tried to think of all the out and out right wingers we've had since '95. Could name 3 (4 if count Kanchelskis)...Grant, Alexandersson and VDM. Everyone else has been played out of position. It's been a neglected position for too long and I doubt we'll change that anytime soon.

Its not just the club you know, players we are interested in are dragging their feet, clubs we are talking to are dragging their feet.

It takes 3 to sign a player, we really dont control when it happens, despite what some of you think.
People are confusing their own personal impatience with the club's perceived failings. As you say, transfers are complex beasts.

If the club splurged excess millions on players, and more so if they were players we don't really need or those who don't really want to be here...

... they'd be foaming at the mouth. In an ideal world, we'd have players in now, but I will judge everything at the end of the window.
