Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

All people are able to point out though about Brownhill are his goals which is why I'm dubious, as it's a clear outlier in his career thus far. Nobody has been able to actually say they've watched him play that much!
The reason he got 18 last season is because they played him as a 10 as opposed to sitting deeper like he has the rest of his career.

The targets themselves aren't a problem. But there's deffo something off with our approach.

Personally I think if the players are giving us a non committal response you have to set a deadline, say a week tops then walk away and go after someone else.

Similarly if we're haggling over a couple of million with the club just suck it up and pay what they want we don't have the leverage atm
Aye god forbid our new recruiters actually try for good players ey..

Another one bite the dust...forest are offering better terms than us. That's the reality of this transfer window.
Bell Brownhill again lad

I’d probably go and get Ndidi at this point. We need some experience/physicality in midfield and we can’t just have our eggs in a basket that will smash on deadline day.

Yeah there’s part of me that’s thinking if it doesn’t affect our budget for improvements in the starting Xi, then get the cover in now which might be easier to negotiate on

Means the squad is padded and then we can make the big decisions/outlays on the two positions we really need to improve for the first team (rw and cm)

In fairness he's a kind of nondescript but not awful player, so it is quite difficult to say specifically what he's good at. He's quite similar to someone like Garner in that sense, he's just a sort of decent footballer who isn't out of his depth at this level. I would certainly want better than him, but as a squad filler alongside some actually good signings I could get on board with it. Not sure we've really been linked though.
Cheers, feels more like a lot of people are wanting him to get a body in the door then rather than really wanting him as a player in that case, doesn't sound like starting material which is what we need.
The reason he got 18 last season is because they played him as a 10 as opposed to sitting deeper like he has the rest of his career.
That would explain it more.

I just don't accept there are no players out there right now who are available and would improve. I don't accept any of these excuses. Everyone knew the situation with our squad months ago and it seems that no planning or preparation were carried out.
Exactly this......

And let's be honest, it cannot be that difficult to improve on many of the players.

GOT select 11 would likely do it.
