Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Well evidently he’s good at scoring goals.

Now go on tell me what James Garner is good at.
He's played 3 seasons of PL football and scored 6 goals in total over them. Doucoure scored 7 in 23/24 alone in the PL. Last season looks like it is an outlier more than anything.

Again, James Garner is completely irrelevant to me asking what is Brownhill good at. I've openly stated I don't know much about Brownhill so I'm looking to be informed about him by people who want to sign him as I'd have imagined they've watched him play regularly. By ignoring that and being unable to provide me with an answer aside from "look, he scored 18 goals in the Championship", I'll have to take that as meaning that you've never actually watched them play.

It's been such a disappointment of a summer. The first time in ages we've had money to spend.
People say well there are other teams that haven't spent..well some of them can't until they shift players and others only need a couple of new additions.
We needed nearly double figures and had money available.
Alcaraz signing was fine, but then he was here last season, backup goalie, an exciting but very young backup left back and a very young and inexperienced striker who will feed off scraps.
The worst bit is not addressing the gaping problem we have had for years,- the right hand side.
Apart from kubo, have we really been linked with anyone over that side of the pitch?

You caring or not makes not a bit difference to the mechanics of transfers though.

Clearly, across football there appears to be blockage on movement. Everton alone can not force that open. If a team is a reluctant to sell, Everton can’t force them.

I don’t believe for one second that there is no player in world football we can get that would improve the *checks squad list* nobody that we currently have on the right wing. I don’t believe there is no obtainable player in world football that is better than Nathan Patterson at right back, or Tim Iroegbunam in midfield. It’s a pathetic excuse. How did we manager to get Barry and Aznou in if there’s a worldwide block on transfers? Ridiculous excuse.

Here is an AI generated answer to your Q ToffeeScot. It meshes fairly well with Burnley fans who seem to like his heart, effort, creativity and eye for goal but who complain he gives the ball away and can be caught out of position.

In the heart of Burnley's midfield, Josh Brownhill stands out as a seasoned campaigner with a knack for creating opportunities. His style of play is typified by a creative spark that's evident in his impressive ability to craft chances, making him a pivotal figure in Burnley's attacking moves. Despite his creative prowess, Brownhill's ball retention could do with some refinement, as he occasionally struggles to maintain possession under pressure. Defensively, he's a mixed bag; while his presence in the penalty area can be reassuring, his 1v1 defending leaves room for improvement. His progressive passing and carrying aren't quite as dynamic as one might hope, suggesting a more conservative approach when advancing the ball. Nonetheless, his goal threat is palpable, with a knack for positioning himself effectively to capitalise on scoring opportunities. In this scout report, Brownhill's player stats reveal a midfielder who, at 29, combines experience with a significant attacking edge, though there's a clear path for growth, particularly in the defensive phase and ball progression.

You’d moan if they settled for average players in each position.

I am fearful for this team tbh.

They have shown they are more than capable of bumbling along in the bottom 3 or 4. I don’t see us just automatically being top ten because of Moyes.

We desperately need some quality additions.
