But then we do sign a wonder kid like Aznou or Barry and they’re ignored in the tirade against Moyes.
I’ve done some research, and his hatred of Moyes goes back a long way.But then we do sign a wonder kid like Aznou or Barry and they’re ignored in the tirade against Moyes.
Spot on. We used to get players quite easily before because of the wages we used to offer, especially in the early moshiri years. Now we offer same than any other prem team outside top 7/8...I bet you even villa now offers more than us when signing players. We need to prepare to spend more because we are currently not attractive due to the lack of European football. That's what Newcastle did, and it worked for them. The only thing is that we can not make the same mistakes than in the early moshiri years. We need the right players for those big wages. The reality perhaps is that TFG dont want to spend more than the others even if we have the psr room. They dont have to do it with roma which is very attractive as a football club. Unless they change strategy, they will never be successful here, at least not in the short to medium term.Devils advocate time
Everyone assumes the players are saying 'no, for now' means because they are waiting for better options in terms of CL etc.
What if the no is because we are offering say 80k PW and those players are demanding 150k. Is the want CL almost a way of saying we want the wages the likes of Chelsea and United pay for 19-21yo players.
If so it becomes a game of chicken between the clubs and players now, once the huge wage payers have do either business you will have a lot of players wanting moves still, sat on contracts of 20-40k in France or Germany etc or on first pro contracts here - are they gonna insist to the point of not getting moves for maybe 80k and end up earning that 20-40 or do they compromise and take the 80....
I think you are seeing a bit of a power struggle between clubs and agents/players on gaining back some form of upper hand.
Be interesting the later it goes towards the end of the window - agents require those moves to keep the money rolling.
Moyes wouldn’t be talking about bringing in 7 / 8 / 9 if they didn’t have an idea what that looked liked - it’s not in his make up to bullshit. Loan signings I imagine are lined up already but won’t happen till the death. Second choices they will be confident with. If riding out a few more weeks to get our first choices in is needed then so be it
I see Zat went full The President mode after I went to sleep last night.
You think because you write these long laborious,quasi-analytical posts that they are somehow deserving of an equal retort....well they're not.
Your post was just that "BALLS,"
Not one of your posts comes from balanced, fair minded thinking.
It's easy to see your hatred for Moyes because it seeps right through anything you post, and leaves you unable to deal with actual facts.
Your hatred is that strong you openly admitted to not celebrating a 94th winner because he picked Doucoure, which led me to believe you're not actually an Evertonian.
I think you're more just someone obsessed with Computer games and scouting players though a PC monitor, which is fine but I'd suggest you'd stay in that lane
Is that Riposte any better?
I suspect have only one or two more signings to make and the rest will be loans and loans traditionally happen late in the window
Personally I don't want to see Garner in any midfield, I honestly don't see what he brings to the table, no assists, scores very rarely, just not good enough as far as I'm concernedA Garner and Iroegbunam centre midfield doesn’t set the pulse racing either. I think that this point it’s less about setting the pulse racing and more about actually fielding a team that can compete against other Premier League team
