Transfer Rumour Douglas Luiz

Barry hasn’t convinced me he out of his depth yet
No one is saying he's out of his depth. He was brought in because they have him projected to be special, not to replace Beto this season. If that were the case, they wouldn't have given Beto the number 9 shirt. That's a clear signal that he's the striker, and Barry is developing behind him.

I think we'll see Barry in a number of positions across the front and behind the striker, especially coming in late to make an impact.

The latest from Gianni Balzarini is that Juventus needs to sell Douglas Luiz to make other deals happen and their DOF wants to sell him to the Premier League. Interestingly, he just casually mentions Everton and West Ham, but I haven't heard him mention any bids from West Ham, but I guess he's acknowledging that they have interest.

Think it speaks volumes that only you and this other fella are the only 1s still mentioning his name at this point.

And only West Ham and Everton? Swerve this fella.

Fair points, but Gianni is a serious Juventus source, and I'm just updating the board anytime he says something.

I think it's similar to the Jack Harrison situation, i.e., financially prohibitive and so difficult to find a taker, but the difference is that Luiz would take over our midfield whereas Harrison has nothing to offer.

Real tough one here in the fence sitter brigade.

Would he be the most talented player at the club? Probably.

Would he make some amazing plays? Sure.

Would he cause trouble or even down tools the minute he feels his spot in the Brazil World Cup squad slipping away? Quite possibly.

Glad I don’t have to make this decision. High risk, high reward.

Nobody has been given the number 9 shirt.

The club has already publicly confirmed that the pre-season numbers are not confirmed for the new season.

Has he ever proven to be a bad egg?

Wanted to look into a move to Arsenal, fair enough.
Been fined at Juventus, but they dont exactly have a good reputation for being a great club of late do they?

But not seen anything of him owning tools or throwing his toys out the pram.

Where was this? I think it was in the sit down interview next to Seamus where he was asked how it felt to be given the number 9 shirt.
