Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

They clearly haven’t been “dithering” at all. You can’t force your top targets to sign! We just aren’t attractive enough to the top players at the moment unfortunately but you can’t blame the manager and recruitment team for being ambitious and trying to get them in.

Certainly not disagreeing with you what you are saying.

My problem is , how do we eventually get to a position where we can attract top players?

If this season, we finish around mid table, say 12th-10th, do we face the kind of problems you’re saying now but next summer as well?

Personally I am taking a see what happens approach with little to no expectations anymore, it feels like we are in footballing purgatory the majority of the time. Anything genuinely great to happen to us would be a bonus honestly.

Another day of naff all happening? Like yesterday, you mean? When we actually signed a player.

You have no idea what has happened today mate, and nor do I. Funny, though, that the second something tangible ACTUALLY happens, people cannot wait to brush it aside and get right back to Cryarse Mode.
People like that are either pushing their own agenda no matter what we do, or are clearly not even decent fans, to not even know we’ve signed players.

Everton are having a better window than Roma.

The implication is clear: they're transfer process for first team players for one club they own is more efficient than that carried out at another they own.

My conclusion: one's regarded by them as Flagship FC and the other is regarded by them as Red Headed Stepchild FC.
I have a bit more time on here for you than most do, but you’re clearly on a windup.
Not one person can seriously think the owners would put an Italian team ahead of us in priority. The money difference the clibs would bring in with success are not even close. They would make a lot lot more money through us than them.

No mate, they spent hundreds of millions on Everton just so they can burn it all to the ground for Roma.

Its what successful businessmen do.

I don't mind our signings, just the pace of our rebuild leaves a lot to be desired. Would not mind some budget signings to bolster our squad before the season opens and marquees can be done during the last week of the window. Just some form of reassurance that they know what they are doing.

So if you could watch a team who were challenging for a CL spot in their respective league or visit another team in an old and tired stadium who struggled in a fight against relegation for the last few years, who would you pick to go and watch if you weren't a soccer fan. Instead you were a businessman?
Old and tired stadium? Erm.....

I know no one wants to say it, but... Roma's situation is a little bit more dire and their ultras don't take kindly to rash comments from the management. We are a VERY measured bunch in comparison. We will have our time in the sun.
