ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Hate to say it but they buy and sell extremely, extremely well. Can count their recent year flops on one hand.

Sell unproven youngsters for tens of millions, and even when they flip players (Diaz) after a few years they double their money.

Let's see how much they get for Allison when he leaves next season.

Yet another revamping of their attack this season, and no doubt they'll once again just be too hot to handle up front and win the title again as a result.

Nunez, Chiesa, Minamino, Solanke, Carvalho, Endo, Calvin Ramsay, Artur Melo, Kabak, Ben Davies, Van Den Berg.

That’s a big hand that.

They didn't pay much for any of those, obviously aside from Nunez who they ultimately get £50m odd for. Endo has been great for them and cost next to nothing. Chiesa will go and was cheap. Minamimo was cheap, he'll go. Solanke, Carvalho and van den Berg they got great money for. Dunno about the rest but definitely not expensive flops similar to the dozens Everton have had.

Don’t mix up having unlimited money and being good at recruitment. Just lashing round a ton of money on top players is an easy game. Just because United have messed it up doesn’t make it any less easy. City did it, Chelsea did it, United under Fergie did it, and all of them did it a lot better than this current Liverpool have.

Isak is getting done, quite a side they are building.
It is and on paper they look streets ahead.

I suppose the only hope is that klopp built a team and team spirit and you’ve got to mesh this new lot together both in terms of football but also the dynamics.

We’ve all seen teams built and look a lot more impressive than they actually end up being .

I suspect they’ll win the title but if not I think they’ll finish about 4th rather than 2nd simply because they’ve not gelled . If that makes any kind of sense .

It's the CL they want.

They, like just about every other 'elite' club, have figured out the PL is a devalued competition.

Winning the PL will just be a bauble on the way to trying to become CL holders again.

United and Chelsea slipping off the pace in recent years and City being 'relaxed' about looking like also rans tells you all you need to know where the emphasis is these days.

Big Bucks FC are spending on Isak and the rest because they want to make sure they can get past PSG and Madrid when the time comes. That's just about the strength of it.

They get Isak and they will be hard to beat. They will just score more than the opposition.

Grim.
I still think PIF will play hardball over this due to Isak being their marque player, so to lose him when they have CL on offer is a huge negative.

More so when they're trying to build a reputation! Isak and player power may be too much, but if I were them, I would force Liverpool's hand.

£120m? Throw an extra £10-£20m on top and say it needs to be paid with 70% up front to ensure it isn't easy for them.
