Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Definitely not a fact, and Id actually suggest we risk throwing away 3 points. If we cant beat Leeds with the same squad we ended last year on(top half under Moyes), thats on the manager and players. Wolves is more of the same as they continue to shed their best players.

I dont consider Doucoure and Harrison better than Alcaraz and McNeil, and those two replaced them down the stretch.
Bang on.

If we lose all of Leeds, Brighton & Wolves it certainly won't be because we didn't bring in '9-10' players in July - that's on Moyes.

If we lose all those games it will at least be in part due to the fact our pre-season wasn't adequate and we only had about 14 available outfield players by the end of July. It's not something tangible that you can prove one way or another, but I definitely believe our very poor pre-seasons lead to our regular poor starts.

We don't have a squad currently that is likely to be competitive in many matches in this league. The manager knows it, the manager is frustrated and very unhappy. I'm a bit baffled why there are people arguing the opposite from our own manager!

"You were just shown his assists weren't all set pieces"

"But the team was built around him taking all the set pieces?"

You doing okay?

Goals:

Villa - Not a set piece
Palace - Not a set piece
Palace - Not a set piece
Ipswich - Not a set piece

Assists:

Bournemouth - Not a set piece
Villa - Set piece
Ipswich - Not a set piece
Wolves - Set piece
Wolves - Set piece

Forest - Not a set piece
Fulham - Set piece
Southampton - Not a set piece

12 goal involvements, 4 of them involving a set piece...

Are you okay? because youre blatantly not reading what im posting.

You see that big "AND" that you coincidentally left out when you quote me?

But ill say it again.

The team was built round him AND he takes all of out set pieces.

Assists:

Bournemouth - Not a set piece
Villa - Set piece
Ipswich - did you see the angle mcneils pass puts keane at????
Wolves - Set piece
Wolves - Set piece

Forest - miss hit pass
Fulham - Set piece
Southampton - miss hit pass

So from his assist we have 4 set pieces, 3 poor passes and only one good assist.

Of course they all count but how many chances does he throw away were the player doesn't get on the end of them, That the defender doesn't fall over, that the angle is too tight (christ that keane one is a joke
The angle is van basten-esk).

He's supposed to be our most creative player and his first thing he does is pass it backwards. Maybe I'll be more positive to him if hes a squad player this season but i cant have him as a first teamer.

What about his big chances created stats? we can't just conveniently forget about those considering he'd probably be on far more assists if our strikers weren't allergic to the goal at the best of times...

miss hit pass is a ridiculously biased way to look at it, the forest pass was absolutely perfect. When you play footy you have to watch the other players stride, but I suppose you might not be the passing type!

3 assists? i know he got 2 from open play and both were Fortunate the shocking pass for Beto v Forest that incredibly went through the defenders legs. 70% of assists are set pieces. He’s bang average thats why he went from a crap Burnley to a crap Everton. We need a lot better
@Nymzee did the actual numbers before, its nowhere near 70% set pieces

Sorry mate - just can't get on board with Moyes potentially shifting towards a narrative that attempts to absolve him of all blame if things go pear shaped early on. He still needs to manage this current squad properly as that is his job, which is a squad that is capable of winning those first three games regardless..
