Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Better to take our time & get players for the right fee & wages who want to play for us than buying for the sake of it otherwise we end up in the same mess again.

We have bought 4 players in & I’m sure there will be 1 or 2 more plus some loans towards the end of the window. If we get a decent right winger we will be stronger than last season.

Captain condescending can't help himself, a good majority of his posts are talking down and insulting people.
I disagreed with something you started a thread about once about 5 years ago and ever since you've followed me round calling me captain condescending (to other people, never directly) and putting unsure reactions to about 50% of my posts. Some people (like you, for example) might think of that as bullying you know.

He can be yes, but I really do not know what has been going on with the high floating corners to past the back post which we started seeing at the back end of last season. Both him and Garner....

Was this Adam's doing?
Our goal output from set-pieces seemed to worsen under Charlie Adam and our corners were definitely worse. We scored quite a few from set-pieces under Dyche so that was not much of a problem under him, unlike other parts of our attacking play. McNeil's best corners, which generally came under Dyche (worth remembering that he was injured for the early part of Moyes' tenure), tended to be hit towards the six-yard box right into a cluster of players. Hopefully we will see him take more corners towards the six-yard box in the coming season.

How long does this nonsensical theory go on for? What’s the cut off point where we can say we’ve left it too late and now we probably won’t get all of our top targets? Also what is considered “for the sake of it”? Was Barry bought for the sake of it? He must have been.

Hopefully we won't see him take any corners tbh.... really hoping we can get players in in the next couple of weeks who will mean he doesn't get too many minutes.

i think he is ok, but far too one footed and one paced and if we are really targeting wide creative players then hopefully they are a step up from him.

I would say the Jack Harrisons and Tom Fellows are "for the sake of it" signings.

Probably around option 6 or 7 on the list maybe lower.
If we really wanted these im sure they would already be signed.

Lets say Fofana is number 1 and Fellows is number 6, at what point do you start dropping down the list?

2 weeks ago , get the back up right winger in first and then aim for the starter .

“For the sake of it” surely means a signing that you don’t need but make anyway? Signing a new goalkeeper or centre back right now would be a signing for the sake of it. Outside of that, we basically need to strengthen every position on the pitch.
