Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

So this quote of mine from earlier is a reasonable take then, yes? Clarke is already here to 'replace' Harrison's contribution for next season. The real issue is we obviously don't want to be handing Clarke 20-odd appearances like Harrison got last season either way, so the need for a new quality wide forward is pretty paramount for me before 1st September..
It's hard to say whether it's reasonable, i haven't seen enough of Clarke to know whether he can play as well as Jack Harrison can. With the best will in the world, people reducing it to 'he only got 1 goal and 1 assist therefore literally anybody in the world could come in and not do any worse' are showing a fairly hefty lack of understanding of how football works. At it's most basic level, Moyes clearly thought Harrison was a better option than Clarke last season, because he kept picking him. If his opinion has now changed and Clarke is seen as being a better option (or at least no worse) then yes that's a reasonable take. If he is of the opinion that actually Clarke is nowhere near ready and couldn't do the job that he trusted Harrison to do, then no it isn't a reasonable take.

Another two right wingers signed for other clubs (Buchanan to Villareal for 9 mil and Aboukhlal to Torino for 8 mil ) Both could have done a job for us and would be decent back up options. Would stop people mentioning Jack Harrison.

Never understood the hate McNeil gets. I understand he's slow and one-footed but he gets decent numbers every year. Always high on chances created too. If we sign a great right winger he can become a really solid bench option for attacking mid/wing.
Also worth adding that he is a decent corner taker, who is at least better than some of the other corner takers we have had in recent years.

Your post has also alluded to the players which were scouted under Thelwell/Purdy being good players which have gone elsewhere. Both Kudus and Minteh have demonstrated that they are capable of performing in the Premier League, with both having been identified under the previous regime. In my view the problem was not so much with scouting, but with poor spending making these players unaffordable. I should also say that I agree with your point on keeping Thelwell, who deserved a chance to spend some money after working on a shoestring budget for as long as he did.
Probably every club in the Prem and championship knew of kudos. People think these players appear from no where. And some genius like big nose Kev was the only one to notice him.

He can be yes, but I really do not know what has been going on with the high floating corners to past the back post which we started seeing at the back end of last season. Both him and Garner....

Was this Adam's doing?

Still hope they can pull a couple from the fire in the next week or so. Depends who they are of course but it would make things look a lot better. It's a shame things look so gloomy already. The powers that be have to look at themselves and take responsibility. We should all be buzzing with new players and the new stadium.

This player is really good.

As for the price tag, Como's ownership is ridiculously rich. Hands down the richest in Italy and among the richest in Europe. PT Djarum, hartono brothers. Actually they're buying the world this summer and they have the capabilities to win the championship in 3-4 years.
And they have the next 'elite' manager IMO.
