2024/25 David Moyes

I mean, did they? the reason why the first half of last season went so poorly was mainly because of Dyche rather than the players. Didn't think many people actually disputed this?
I mean, yes - Neiler, Senor GOT were great defenders, as was Davek I believe, of the goings and how these players were only good enough for 17th and Dyche was right all along and we should all pipe down and we're all wrong. If anyone wants to trawl through those vaults - go for it. Danny several pages ago bemoaned the fact Moyes said what he said with "we finished with enough points for 14th ffs!" and all that, these things keep popping up and will keep popping up.

Not arsed in general anymore, just funny to see the hatred just because it's Moyes that said it this time

I don't agree he looks to drag the club the down, but he definitely needs to cut the negative crap out because he's just feeding into the narrative.

Less is more sometimes, everyone knows we need players through the door but he doesn't need to be highlighting reasons why.

Just keep these pressers simple.
The mainstream don’t really care, so there is no greater narrative. They are focused on the Man Utds, Chelseas, even the Spurs.

We are seen as making up the number, so it’s better to get candid reflections on what is going on from one of the few at the club who will be talking to the media.

Moyes has been nothing but positive and talked us up since coming back. The interviews back that up.

That's not true as far as I'm concerned.

He's talked about how Dyche left a disciplined well trained squad but that we're short all over the pitch. And he's spoken about eventually getting back to higher standards.

That's just perfunctory talk you'd expect. There's no ambition on display.

I notice Moyes uses a RED tartan case to carry his terminator bins around with him.
I’m not usually one for superstitions but I think this maybe at least partially responsibly for our poor performance in the transfer window at the moment.
Much like players wearing red boots in games we tend to lose, I think he need to re-assess his choice of glasses protection (not to mention the sunnys themselves)

He looks defeated.

Any perfunctory talk was about Dyche. Disciplined and well trained lol. Wtf does that even mean. We couldnt even muster a shot on goal.
Managers union talk at best.
Nobody talked this club down more than Sean Dyche. In my 50 odd years supporting this club he was the worst. By a distance.

He'll just disagree with you still mate. 'Home truths' and all that

Christ.

Last 2 seasons we've earned enough points to finish 12th and 13th.

22 points clear in 2023/24
23 points clear last season.

In the last 2 seasons - closer to Europe than relegation.

Should be looking up under new owners and new stadium, not back.

Exactly my biggest concern with Moyes when we appointed him was he'd be here this summer/new season when we desperately needed new life and a bit of swagger putting into the club. He needs to stick with Europe talk which I've said a few times was refreshing and unexpected of him, and not ref desperation and relegation. It does nobody, other than him and expectation management, any favours.

IMO Moyes is a man out of time. He looks and sounds like a dinosaur. He should really have retired with his bit of Euro success.

But our fans love him - and that speaks to a bigger issue: the inability of the club's fanbase to leave the past behind and walk toward the future. We see it also with all the patter about needing to 'bring Goodison with us to the new stadium'.

We really need a force to come from somewhere - dare I say like Shankly did for them in the late 1950s - to utterly shake this organisation up and dominate the club with managerial ability and personality to drag us into the 21st century.

Despite the new opportunity the new facility hands us, we still feel like a we're stuck in the past century and will struggle to make the most of the chance it brings. In short, we need a saviour - and a dull 62 year old Glaswegian who's past his best days isn't it.

Ask Moyes, he was the one saying it.
