Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Ahhh… and the apologists ain’t done making excuses as they shift the goalposts once more…

“A month of the window to go” is now the new “we have three weeks before the start of the season”
They have given up any pretence of having a squad fit and ready for the start of the season. Those early dropped points are the difference between perhaps finishing in the top half of the league, and ensuring safely with a few weeks to go.

Unacceptable.
We will get them, there is still a month of the window to go.

It can go both ways. I think we should have got more in by now, especially at RW, but I won't panic until the Leeds game. If we haven't made a significant stride in the market by then that's a red flag.

See edited post. I agree and disagree. The window is still open after that first game. It's not ideal, and I'd rather players are in before then, which I expect to happen, but we still have a further two weeks to add to the squad and make sure we are in a good place. It's a long season.
Please see edited and added post.

It's a long season and it isn't ideal to not get more in before the first game, but it's there, I'm not going to ignore that it is just because some people are in full panic mode.

To be fair though, not many other teams have done a lot. Many teams around us, like crystal palace, wolves, west ham, Fulham have not done anything really.

Brentford and Bournemouth have(or will) moved a few on.

Probably waiting for the big boys to finish eating at the table so the rest of us can move in and pick up the scraps.
But non of those teams have lost 10-12 players in the window either..

….phew, that makes sense if accurate.
Agree. Some seem to be starstruck at the name again. 30 in September, and the fire in his belly seems to have died out a while ago. He’d be incredibly expensive too even on a loan.

How many times have we made that mistake in the past, signing players on past reputations who were past their best?

Don’t do it.

Its a bad thing that our current group are having to play 90 minutes in back to back games in America right now..definitely skirting with early season injuries by doing it.
Also dont understand why we are linked/trying to get these quality players when money appears so tight to getting them over the line.
If we dont have much money to fill several slots, then its down to recruitment team to get the next best thing that will improve us.
Failing that, put all your money on kubo and get 4 loans in that will see us through the season.

Refuse to believe that so many players are just rejecting us outright. We’re a Premier League club who’ve comfortably avoided relegation the past two seasons and about to move into a top class new stadium. I think we’re a very attractive proposition to a certain level of player but maybe we’re setting our sights too high, too soon? Either way it’s time for them to change tack, stop waiting on players who clearly don’t want to come and focus on players who actually do.

I've been banging the postive drum on here but after that press conference it all looks a bit glum to be fair.

Reports saying we are moving away from Grealish ( anyone who doesn't think he will be our best player, needs their head checking), fofana wants CL and no other real links out there. Not panic stations yet but it doesnt looks pleasant at all, infact a night of "Susan Boyle sings naked" is sounding better at the moment.
