Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I liked him when he first came through at RB but then it was made known that he didnt want to play RB any more and only wanted to be used as a CM.

He then dropped performance levels until last season i think?

I think hes a good right back. Quick and strong and always available.

It seems to me that AMN could be signed for e.g £15mil and Fofana e.g £30mil to get some of the sell on fee down.

He'd be ideal on the left with Aznou behind him.

Grealish and McAtee could be top players for us but id see a Kubo or Dibling as being better suited.

Thought AMN did well last year whenever I watched him, but his stats were genuinely impressive vs top 5 leagues.

As I alluded to in a earlier post, all of these names getting dropped (Grealish, AMN etc) are 100% an effort to get other deals moving… nice to see agents working for our needs for a change…

Let's look at this logically......

They bought him for 30mil at the age of 23. In 7 seasons he played almost 300 games for Arsenal.

They sold him for 21.4mil at the age of 30 with one year left on his contract to Leverkusen.

I think any side outside of the big 6 generally could have gone for him, and Sunderland have jumped in there.

Not bothering commenting on your Ballon d'Or take.

Hope this answers your questions.

Also curious what you would expect to sell a 30yr old with 1 year on the contract left? If it's Everton we cannot sell them and they go for free 1 year later.

They bought him for £35m.

No one apart from Sunderland wanted him otherwise he would of gone there. same way were waiting on players to come to us because they have options their waiting to find out about.

What would i expect for a 30 year old with a year left on their contract? That depends.

In this market with a world beater like xhaka? Surely more then £20m, no? How much did Liverpool get for Henderson or firminho? And they were both finished.

A semi competent option at RB?
We have semi competent options at right back, that’s kind of the point. I was hoping we might sign a genuinely good right back. Similar to walker peters for me, he’d be a decent signing on the right terms in the sense that he gives you a bit of depth in different positions, but we’ve needed a proper right back for about 6-7 years and if we’ve decided that he’s the solution to that issue it’s extremely underwhelming.

Aye, I agree with that. He would be fine but you'd likely have to pay a decent sized fee for him and that would be better placed on someone with genuine quality.
