Yeah noticed they specifically said that in regards to the tour numbersJust for the U.S. tour so far.
I liked him when he first came through at RB but then it was made known that he didnt want to play RB any more and only wanted to be used as a CM.
He then dropped performance levels until last season i think?
I think hes a good right back. Quick and strong and always available.
It seems to me that AMN could be signed for e.g £15mil and Fofana e.g £30mil to get some of the sell on fee down.
He'd be ideal on the left with Aznou behind him.
Grealish and McAtee could be top players for us but id see a Kubo or Dibling as being better suited.
A semi competent option at RB?Maitland Niles is all sorts of average. I just don't see what he would give us that we don't already have.
As a backup...only played 8 games...I was hoping for a better option for our starting 11. Unless of course we can get him on a cheap loan as an option from the bench.Roma under the Friedkins signed Maitland-Niles once already, on loan though back in 2022
Let's look at this logically......
They bought him for 30mil at the age of 23. In 7 seasons he played almost 300 games for Arsenal.
They sold him for 21.4mil at the age of 30 with one year left on his contract to Leverkusen.
I think any side outside of the big 6 generally could have gone for him, and Sunderland have jumped in there.
Not bothering commenting on your Ballon d'Or take.
Hope this answers your questions.
Also curious what you would expect to sell a 30yr old with 1 year on the contract left? If it's Everton we cannot sell them and they go for free 1 year later.
Ouch you didn't even lube him up first mate![]()
We have semi competent options at right back, that’s kind of the point. I was hoping we might sign a genuinely good right back. Similar to walker peters for me, he’d be a decent signing on the right terms in the sense that he gives you a bit of depth in different positions, but we’ve needed a proper right back for about 6-7 years and if we’ve decided that he’s the solution to that issue it’s extremely underwhelming.A semi competent option at RB?
Aye, I agree with that. He would be fine but you'd likely have to pay a decent sized fee for him and that would be better placed on someone with genuine quality. We have semi competent options at right back, that’s kind of the point. He’s been given no 9 for the America tour. Not set in stone for the PL….i’m sure I read on here Beto has been given no9, maybe it was a wind-up that gullible me believed![]()
