Yeah I just don’t really think he’s the answer as a right back to be honest. He’s maybe an upgrade on Patterson but not someone you want to become our first choice there for the next few years. He’s not a terrible player by any means but signings like that won’t get us very far.A right back who isn’t Nathan Patterson?
I know he's not popular in these parts, but Bobble has been saying exactly this for a number of weeks and reiterated it a few days ago.Welsby the new king of ITKs
I guess, and I'm playing devil's advocate here, he can cover a lot of positions. He's played RB, RW, the right side of midfield and central midfield but he'd be a rather uninspiring signing.Maitland Niles is all sorts of average. I just don't see what he would give us that we don't already have.

Would be unlikely to be sanctioned until much later on in the window. Suspect he will be an end of August addition if he comes. We were only talking last night we’d prob see this in the Fofana thread, if we’re after a left winger.

What on earth is a "premium loan deal"?!
He splits our fanbase that’s for sure. He has definitely improved his game, he went off the boil last season when he had to adjust his game to our new style of play, but then he started to look a level above once he found his feet. His passing is very good, he gets in great positions to block off the passing lanes and made some vital interceptions to close down counter attacks. He has one obvious flaw to his game and that is he gets dispossessed far too much in dangerous positions. If he does that in the premier league, he’ll cost his side goals. We haven’t been able to work it out of him, I just feel like Moyes could do something with him. Moyes isn’t scared about taking on championship players and improving them, he’s done it enough in his management career.Nah mate, the interest in Neil was driven by Thelwell, for what it's worth i like Neil but think he's reached or close to it on his peak already and will struggle in the prem
