If I make an "apple pie", but replace the apples with mango, will it backfire dramatically when cooking? Like, do mangoes stew?

This seems like a good place to ask: do you not have peanuts in the UK? The video of Michael Keane and Jordan Pickford trying to eat peanuts is baffling. Why did someone have to tell them you need to crack them open first?
Peanuts are usually eaten salted like Planters. You do get nuts in their shells (for Christmas, especially) but we used to feed peanuts in their shells to the squirrels as kids. This seems like a good place to ask: do you not have peanuts in the UK?
