Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Traditionally I said, I consider the reckless Moshiri years to be outliers!
They were definitely reckless , at the start anyway .

there is a table available from 2008-2018 which is 8 years of non moshiri and we’re 11th but it does feel relevant that for a fair chunk of that time was the period we hadn’t made a permanent transfer .

I also remember lots of rumours of a cozy relationship between Kenwright , green and the agent pini zahavi.

You might have better inside knowledge but the publicly available evidence out there does seem to disagree with your point .

He never even got tete wrong.

He said we agreed a deal and said here we go coming soon. Which is him even saying the deal is close but not done.

Then he reported Fulham had upped their offer for him and he chose to stay there. Everything he said about the tete deal happened.

I dont get where this idea romano is constantly wrong. Hes probably got a 95% hit rate and considering how many deals he reports thats incredibly high

No idea. People bring up the Diaz one, but again he didn't get that wrong.

He agreed to join, we agreed a deal with Porto but James wouldn't go back and be part of the agreed deal.

Moyes has said what he has said. It tells us where we are. We are guessing what it means for our endeavours going forwards. None of us really know but we can be 99.9% certain that agents understand the market and individual club/manager situations better than anybody. Hard to believe that any of them are going to be spluttering cornflakes reading his quotes.
Maybe Moyes know the Fan base and know we don’t accept the guff so told it straight, we had to bull enough under the Kopite Kenwright reign

Boyland will probably know about a lot of work being done that isn't at the reporting stage yet (it'll be very clear from the club what he is and isn't allowed to mention). If he's preaching calm and that there's lots going on behind the scenes then I'll take that at face value honestly.
The only reason we know about Anzou is cos of Romarno otherwise we have no idea, think we had a link about 2 weeks ago but that was it, I’m hoping there is more like that and this week we should start seeing movement

I feel like people just cant wait to see ITKs fail so if they get anything wrong they just divebomb them.

Strangely enough it seems the same people who are the first to attack itk for geting something wrong. They are the same ones constantly hassling them for info.

I remember DAVIDMOYES was spot on for years for us. Giving us info constantly but he jumped the gun on one deal that didnt come off and people crucified him and ran him off the fourm... Insane

DCL to Barry.
The Duke to Charly
Virgina to Mark
Young to Aznou.

I think it’s hard man that says that isn’t an improvement in quality and potential mate.

We need to replace and improve on Harrison, Lindstrom and Mangala now. I think that’s a very easy job to be honest and I think we will blow big money in doing it.

Prob do something at right full - be a Coufal or the like.

A whole five weeks of the window to go, wel be grand. As been said already this morning, actually having so much time still to go in the window, actually isn’t helpful for us with players dragging their heels and waiting.

I’ve bad news for on the striker front, be amazed if anyone come in beyond Barry, Beto or Chermiti be a bid mad in truth.
Good post. Agree about the time left in the window. Would prefer the deadline was 1 August tbh as everyone would do basically the same business but without weeks of messing about. But it is what it is.

I don’t think we’re in AS bad a shape as some are making out. Three weeks to Leeds and for me the big non negotiable is a RW in by then. A lot of other stuff will go to the wire under the circumstances.

But assuming Aznou is now done and we get our CBs back, if we add a RW in I think we should have a team for the first game that’s better than the one that finished the season strong plus, for all the squad size issues, potentially a bench of:

Travers, Patterson, Keane, Aznou, Tim, Armstrong, McNeil, Barry, Chermiti

Not perfect and ideally towards the end of the window a couple to go on loan and be replaced but cover for all positions and no need for a second keeper or academy kids.

Ideally we do more before then of course but as a bare minimum a decent RW in the next three weeks should see us put up a competitive squad.
