Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

None of the circumstances now facing the club would have been unknown to them prior to the summer.

So Moyes' comments don't carry water. It simply isn't a surprise that we are not an attractive proposition to many players of a certain profile. Though you would still expect to make a sufficient case to perhaps one or two of them to join, within reason. His comments do nothing to further that aim.

I'm not sure the depth of scouting and prep work has been done which might result in trying to sign players that would improve us and that we have a reasonable chance of getting.

It's absolutely right that they've seemingly been ambitious in who they've tried to sign but they also need to be both flexible and creative. Moyes' premium on experience is not turning out to be very practical for our needs.

It's a bit trite for him to say we don't want bad players! Their job is to find an acceptable medium of quality to improve a threadbare squad, and with the state of it, it shouldn't be that difficult, in a global market.

I'd really love to be able to both attract and afford the quality to propel us into Top 5 contention but if that isn't possible, we have to walk before we can run.
Who do you want us to sign then? Which players have we missed out on that have gone to comparable clubs for acceptable fees in the positions we need? You'd be one of those pulling a minger at 8pm because all of the fitties are being aloof rather than waiting until they get a bit tipsy later on.

DCL to Barry.
The Duke to Charly
Virgina to Mark
Young to Aznou.

I think it’s hard man that says that isn’t an improvement in quality and potential mate.

We need to replace and improve on Harrison, Lindstrom and Mangala now. I think that’s a very easy job to be honest and I think we will blow big money in doing it.

Prob do something at right full - be a Coufal or the like.

A whole five weeks of the window to go, wel be grand. As been said already this morning, actually having so much time still to go in the window, actually isn’t helpful for us with players dragging their heels and waiting.

I’ve bad news for on the striker front, be amazed if anyone come in beyond Barry, Beto or Chermiti be a bid mad in truth.
Moyes won't necessarily play Alcaraz in the same position as Doucoure. We already needed attackers last season so need even more now.

He might not mate but it’s an option, he’s also handed the no 10 shirt to Illy, played him there on Sat and lobbed in a bid of 30 mill for a left winger, so just like that you have two options - we are talking about two right now!

Interesting responses there. Seems the club has t given up on Fofana and talking to a fair few others also.
Boyland will probably know about a lot of work being done that isn't at the reporting stage yet (it'll be very clear from the club what he is and isn't allowed to mention). If he's preaching calm and that there's lots going on behind the scenes then I'll take that at face value honestly.

He's literally got one thing wrong, and that was Tete. That wasnt even that long. He gave us his word he'd sign and backed out

He never even got tete wrong.

He said we agreed a deal and said here we go coming soon. Which is him even saying the deal is close but not done.

Then he reported Fulham had upped their offer for him and he chose to stay there. Everything he said about the tete deal happened.

I dont get where this idea romano is constantly wrong. Hes probably got a 95% hit rate and considering how many deals he reports thats incredibly high

Oh seeing what Boyland wrote gives me a lot of assurance actually
