The prices themselves are a joke. £70+ to sit in the south stand. If performances don’t improve they can expect empty stands with them prices.

Gives you a choice of 1st or 2nd preference.
If they are not available, do you want to sit somewhere else? tick box for No, leave it empty for yes.

Automatically calculates the price based on which stand, your age etc
Sat having a coffee, no issues, with the previous method, by the time i was looking to pay for my ticket, it had already gone.
At least this way, i have as good a chance as everyone else.

I agree the prices are a joke, but I would expect it to be a good few seasons before we started to see a significant number of empty seats due to bad performances.
Football seems to be more popular than ever and the clubs and owners know this and are happy exploiting fan loyalty. Not just Everton but at nearly every club. They know they've got leverage on us all because with so many thousands not even able to get tickets each week, anyone who takes a stand and doesn't go will be easily replaced by another fan willing to pay.
Look at the demand at West Ham, they even hate their new stadium but have been selling over 60K tickets each season. Be interesting to see how long it takes them to start staying away. I suspect it won't be too far off as they did recently get the European Trophy and a couple of top 7 finishes to delay the fan unrest.

I agree. I just think £70 up here, is different to £70 down there. Them prices will price people out.
I just checked what Man United do out of interest as we seem to be following the models of those types of club now.
They removed concession prices for members entirely it looks like. So wouldn't suprise me at all if we've moved towards that with no concession prices in certain areas of the ground.
Might possibly be why we've included that option to opt out of being considered for other areas of the ground if unsuccessful in the ballot for preferred areas. If you pick family stand and north for an adult and under 11 child but end up in East, for example, at this stage it looks like that may well cost you £150 for Brighton. Instead of roughly half that in your preferred area.
Article says it offers greater choice but doesn't feel like that if you've got juniors. Effectively restricted to the family stand which is cut off from the rest of the ground or the north. Or paying £45 for the lower South if they are older than 14. Unless you want/willing to pay for 2 adult tickets.
Deffo not paying an adult ticket for a child. Nor am I giving up my seat sitting in the East stand if the only option is family stand. Joke of a system.
But at present, and wonder if any others on here it's the same, I can't login online and buy tixs for said child, despite it saying under my network I can assign them tickets.

As a Senior, I thought that ticket prices starting in the 40s for all categories was pretty reasonable pricing for us oldies.

Yeah, that’s allright. And again, the club does a great job with kids pricing.
I expected prices in the £60s for general tickets to be honest so it’s not a surprise.
I just think it should all be “affordable” as it’s a sport for the masses. So having limited seats in the upper tier (and I assume in the very top corners) at “affordable prices” shows the direction of travel for the sport.
And how many is "limited"!
Again, nothing is clear on the ballot or the ticketing article, are those tickets separate on the ballot application (can't tell because everything is £1). Or do you just apply for North and the first 10 adults drawn out drop lucky at that price!
I want to go in for East and West but have genuinely not got a clue what I'll be paying for an adult and a junior if successful! I suspect £150. Which would be roughly a 76% price increase on sitting in the Main Stand or Bullens last year.

I mean, I get that. And I expected prices in the £60s which I’m fortunate to be able to afford. It’s just disappointing for the sport that it’s pricing people out by the fact having limited “affordable” seats implies the rest isn’t affordable.

There is someone in a big office at every club that can’t accept that people are being priced out of going to the game if the stadium is always full. The club has held firm better than most, but I guess the move was always going to be the tipping point, when all prices for all seats were being re-evaluated in those offices.
