You can convince a player that they don't want to move, or to stay (not mutually exclusive)

I CBA to go through and identify all the players who, in my opinion (and it would be my opinion) that I'd like to have seen us keep longer into their contracts so that we could progress further with them in the team.

And if I did I'm sure you'd pick them apart based on things like PSR or the player wanting away

If a player wants to leave for one of the top clubs I think we might struggle to keep them. But selling to Tottenham, Villa, etc. just because they've offered us the asking price? Hopefully those days are behind us

One day, maybe, but the other poster is right, for the health of the club we need to say "come help us get into Europe, and then you can move onto one of the biggest clubs".

We really need to start generating transfer funds each summer. We basically have like one major saleable asset right now in Branthwaite and that's it.

I mean besides Richie, and Onana possibly I cannot think of any I am sad that we signed under Moshiri that we sold before I wanted them to.

If you think we still aren't going to be jibbed off for Tottenham or Villa then I have bad news for you. They've got Europe and we've got a nice new stadium and not much else.

I'm not saying we keep everyone all the time, and I accept that we will always be willing to sell even our best players when the circumstances are right

I just think that, aside from Pickford, we have been willing to sell every single one of our best players, without much hesitation, and for too long. I actually can't think of a single player of quality who we've kept for a good amount of time

You still haven't said which deals you're talking about here. How many are you upset that we sold?

I can't think of a single player of quality who we've sold before their time should have ended with us besides Richie .

They seem to be doing ok

Yeah yeah Isak wants to go I get it

But they are retaining a fair amount of their other talent, and other players (even from us, yuck) want to go there

Definitely can't say the same for us historically
