Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

What does success look like in the modern game?
It's an extremely good question.

For an owner it will be turning a profit.

.For fans like us surely it means glory and having pride in your team - you know having a go in games , winning matches , scoring goals , cup runs and whisper it an occasional trophy and qualifying for Europe on a consistent basis

Given the money spent by the top 6 it's obviously not easy . It requires good recruitment , judicious spending , good management and a lot of luck.

@Zatara sock is about to get a whole lot crustier.

Its a soul searcher isn't it mate.

Be gutted if we ever got relegated, last few time we came close and i thought we were goosed, i went numb and was hard for the preoccupation and intrusive negative thoughts not to spill, it wasn't healthy.
I think the reason it doesnt affect me as much no more is year after year we are just being part of the PL fixture list.

We now live in hope we can get a derby win or a couple of good scalps against the bigger teams. Its crap that this is the ambition.

There is no better feeling than winning a trophy that should be the aim every single season, unfortunately its money driven more than ever so retaining PL status is far more important for the owners than a FA Cup win.

Whats sad is even fans think that way now, we talk just as much about the guys in suits shuffling excels files as we do about the players.
The sad reality of modern day footy.
