Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

So we won't pay the money for Kubo because he's deemed too expensive but we're after Dibling who is rated at a higher cost?

What? I've not actually read what Joyce has said though
Moving down the list at a pace of snail...we'll end up with fellows well into August and paying extra because we'll be desperate by then to add any player into the squad. We are trying supposedly for elite players by offering small fees...you want the top player, pay the money. It's easy.

For a takeover saga that lasted 18 months, they still didn't even have a clue who to appoint as CEO for 6 months after. They're just incredibly slow operator's when it comes to us.

Slow is excusable if you ultimately employ a quality operator.

We’ve picked up some chump who the Leeds fans laughed out of the club.

Worrying times.

Kinnear has not been in place very long. Two of the new four don’t join until September. We are a work-in-progress organisationally and it is showing. It is not what we would ideally want in a window where we have to buy a minimum of 7-8 in total but it cannot be changed. All we can do is hope that they can get enough good work done in the coming weeks to give us a solid season and that we will be better placed next summer.

Frustration isn’t unreasonable right now but it is much too early to be deciding either the owners or executives are not up to it given just how much there is to be done at EFC and the strong progress off the pitch stabilising finances and starting to generate more commercial activity.

Let's nip the 'recruitment teams heads are on the chopping block' talk in the bud. Because the recruitment team are not even in post until the window has closed. Whether that's a bad thing or not (obviously it is) is a separate issue but TFG are not sacking anyone for a window they haven't at any point shown is a priority or important.

Think it should be a priority due to the amount of actual players we have in our squad. There are gaps that have to be filled, what happens when we get injuries/ suspensions ?

This window and the circumstances feel akin to the first transfer window Man United had post Ferguson when Moyes and Ed Woodward had an absolute nightmare, to the point it was hailed as disastrous.

Moyes even admitted he had no back up plan when Woodwards utter hopelessness at trying to sign Fabregas and Bale failed.

Let's really hope Moyes learnt lessons and the team at TFG are better prepared.

Full sure we’re grand mate. If Joyce is being briefed we’re in negotiations and are leveraging.

I want minimum compromise, for maximum value.

That’s going to require a bit of holding your nerve in my opinion.
So here in lays our problem due a lack of activity.

Everyone knows our need for bodies and as the window gets smaller, our bargaining power becomes weaker and weaker....which always leads to overpayment.

I think it more eventually leads to meeting half way if a deal is to be done, rather then being that black or white mate. We prob want Kubo for 10 mill less then RS want to sell at, if both sides want to the deal they’ll compromise on 5 mill, 7 mill if we overpay or cash up front or whatever - that or it’s way over what we think is its worth in which case we Should walk away.

Look at this way we can go to WBA or
Boro tomorrow at get Fellows for 20 mill,
Hayden for 25 mill rising to 30 mill - should we do that or do we hold our nerve and try for other options and get max value - they are prob both way down our list and we are still active for Kubo and McAtee. But we can get tomorrow by doing what I say above.

Wel be grand.

I think Fellows is the last resort.
