Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I still think Kubo happens - Sociedad play hardball did same with Isak, Zubimendi, Merino and Griezmann back in the day

I could see this being true. Everton pulling back only to return to the table is similar to what the Friedkins did when buying the club and, as others have pointed out, if the cost of the deal is the concern, there's little to suggest Dibling would be any cheaper.

But then no actual numbers are being bandied about. So maybe Sociedad have demanded an obscene amount that we can't get close to.

Anything from Myers yet?

I get why you see it that way. Honestly.

Can I ask what you’d expect from the club? Simply more completed signings? Press releases when bids are made? Or just more transparency in who they are looking at?

I’m not claiming to be right. I’m just trying to point out we don’t know anything. We are all making guesses based on the utter tosh published by people who are paid to generate content without any consideration of accuracy.

Absolutely yes I would expect that by now. We needed 8 players minimum in this window. Do you forecast us bringing 6 in in the next 5 weeks? We don’t even know who we want by the sounds of it, Tyler Dibling has just been thrown out for crying out loud. Totally pie in the sky, and not even what we need anyway as he’s barely a Premier League starter as it is. I don’t believe for one second he was even on our list at the start of the window. Shambolic really if I’m honest, and not arsed what anyone says, everyone would’ve agreed if you’d presented this scenario to them at the end of May.

He has €60m release clause so can't be any higher than that. If I had to guess I would say we've offered around 30 with add ons and they're looking for more like 40.

What are you on about? If I told you in May that we’d have signed 1 new first teamer by the end of July and be nowhere near closing in on any new ones, you’d have laughed me out the room and told me to stop being ridiculous.
Calm down dear. I hope the sheets that you have on the line are flapping as much as you so they are dry for you tonight.

In which case there would definitely be scope for meeting in the middle you would think. If they want the release clause paying (which, to be fair, may as well be their starting negotiating position) then it's not happening.

Do you ever think maybe you need to get out more or need a hobby? You're coming across as unhinged a bit.
