NUFC aka The Horse Punchers

Is Newcastle the worst place to live in the country?

Seems like players can't wait to leave.
I lived there for a few years. Has a really nice coast and some incredible scenery a short drive away. Northumberland is the least densely populated part of England.

Can’t imagine Anthony Gordon is into rambling/ bird watching or checking out various castles mind you,

The city itself still feels like a big town in many ways. When going out you’d always bump into people you know. For footballers, it’s hard to hide and get away with whatever extracurricular activities they are up to and it’s a fair drive to any other cities.

Couldn’t agree more with this. It’s a fantastic part of the world, and an amazing city, but not for footballers.

But then again, there’s plenty of towns and cities that are pretty horrible to live in - not least various places in the Middle East with teams - but footballers would happily go there if the money is right. And on the hand there’s loads of cities I’d love to live in if rich, but footballers aren’t arsed about because they don’t have a good football team which millions to spend.

I’d imagine players going to Saudi and Qatar are housed in luxury enclosures with all their needs catered for. Be pretty stress / hassle free.

Not really for me but have to say it would be nicer than Washington on a January afternoon.
