Transfer Rumour Douglas Luiz

Players are only interested in the last season.

History means nothing.
Players are interested in money and future career moves in all honesty. I think Forest will struggle next season especially with the Gibbs White situation. And can you see Chris Wood having a similar season? Sure we've been atrocious the last few seasons but a player should see our superior ground, training facilities and ambition going forward rather than Forest with their volatile owner who makes decisions on a whim

I’d wonder why his big money move has gone so badly.
Here’s the run down.

His time at Juventus was a perfect storm of bad circumstances. He was brought in by Massimiliano Allegri, who pushed for his signing and planned to build the midfield around him as a field commander, controlling the tempo and distributing the ball.

Allegri was sacked, and Thiago Motta wanted to use Luiz in a weird hybrid role, dropping into a back three in certain situations, and doing a lot of defensive cover and positional shifts. It didn't work.

Then, Juventus' notorious medical staff was likely to blame for his injury woes. Look up their history of repeated soft tissue injuries and criticism of medical mismanagement. Luiz hinted at this himself, calling the injuries strange, pointing out that he’d never been injured before and that there was a reason he couldn’t mention.

Finally, Motta was sacked and Igor Tudor came in and declared Luiz surplus to requirements because his system favors players who are explosive and aggressive rather than technical and controlled.

I’ve seen some Juventus fans wary of letting him go since he’s barely played.

no not total blue specs

bigger club bigger ambition bigger chance of consistency brand new rich
owners brand new big ground new era

he’s got better chance at us to have momentum

this time last year we woudnt have a chance never mind a “link”

sorry but you chose everton over forest as of now

So agree on the Portuguese manager but Europe ? Said this the other day , I’d kill for a chance of any European comp and the champions lge would be a huge draw but I can’t see the player as excited over trips to Lugano or shakhtar and forest might only make the conference and that can’t be enticing .

Like I say I’d love a jolly in Europe but I can’t imagine he’s dreamt of trips to Finland & Iceland
marinakis, Forests owners other club, just won the league again - I know it is greece but he puts his money where his mouth is. we are yet to see much from TFG (you may have gathered from reading the transfer thread)

I am assuming luiz will look at , manager, squad, project as given by the manager/DoF, Europe of any note and I guess what he knows about the club.

My point is, to Luiz we are not some huge club and forest a crap bunch of wannabes - he will just see wat is in front of him..

Not actually too sure what I am trying to say!

A few slating him for not turning up for training, I get that view but on the other hand he’s been told he’s not wanted and they want him gone so 🤷‍♂️

Like being binned by a bird and then having to go round to hers to watch her with someone else!

Hardly an Isak situation is it?

….he’s a professional, presume he only gets paid if he turns up for work. All sounds a bit sordid, I’d be a bit concerned about the situation, especially given his agent.

This time last year we’d finished comfortably above Forest.

Forest are FAR more attractive now than they were a year ago.

I imagine the forest owner would probably happily pay absurd wages to get him as well whereas we would spend 6 weeks negotiating with his agent to get him down by 5k a week or something

….as with any player, i think we’ll have a fee and salary ceiling in mind and won’t go beyond that. If somebody is prepared to pay more, then it’s up to them.

Who knows mate. All done according to bailey sperm.

Those little swimmers don't always hit the back of net.

Personally feel McAtee would be a better deal for us £££ and potential wise but at the same time we are maybe 2 or more windows away from us having a team where he would be effective as 1st choice. Don't know if we can drop 30m plus on him and risk it not working, the same way 40M plus higher wages for Luiz may be too rich for us still?

Said before I do not envy our transfer team. They are paid the big bucks for their decisions. However, we are in the market for quality players where we also can't take many risks but can't also bust our wage structure either on higher value bigger names.

A Proper challenge they need to work through.

Luiz or not Luiz that is the question?

The absurd wages won't be a factor. They are about to be sanctioned by UEFA this coming year for last years squad costs. Thwy will not risk being a repeat offender as sanctions become more sporting restrictive thrn rather thsn just a fine this time around.

They may pay some juicy fees still but not wages and those fees will mostly come from their sales of Elanga and potential sale of MGW.
