We have enough players for the games before the window closes. Squad size is more of an issue for later in the season. We shouldn’t rush through signings which will be at the club for 3/4 years for the sake of 3 games. That would be madness. 100% of our focus should be getting in the best players we can for the best price. If that happens at 1 minute to midnight before the window slams shut then so be it.Shambolic is clearly far too strong a word. But I think the issue is that we need more players than all these other clubs because we had a small squad to start with and then lost around 10 first team players. If we want to move forward this year, then a decent start is really important to get away from any possible relegation trouble. And we are going to need significant improvements to the squad - both depth and quality - if we are going to have a good season. You can't get through a season with only around 13 or 14 senior outfield players
I don't think it's unfair to say we are behind where we should be at this point of July. And I reckon the club expected to be further ahead too. They need to be judged before the Leeds game because that's when it counts, not the start of September.
Restructure does not necessarily mean signings.I would certainly have expected to see more urgency after a statement like that
I don’t understand why you take out tyrer though? We had 3 keepers in the numbers last season. He is 23 and clearly part of the squad. It’s not like he is a 16 year old that’s just been promoted due to injuries. We’ve a squad of 19 if you take out Tyrer as the 3rd choice keeper but the 19 includes Coleman who’s now a cheerleader effectively.
So, we’re at 18, meaning we need at least 6, likely 8.
Big job on for Angus & the new executive team.
Clock ticking & sheets sopping.

We have new owners and if they couldn't shift the dial for us they should've just stuck with Roma. They will get players in, because they have to. It's a question of when and to what effect our readiness for the beginning of the season is affected, it probably is already.
There has to be a separation between signings pre and post kickoff. There absolutely has to be more business done in the next fortnight, at least a couple more in.
It's a given that we'll be active in the loan market but there is also inherent risk in doing anymore than bits and pieces in the final week.
The available time to do transfers seems to be becoming more and more condensed, and more to the advantage of the elite.
We're told you can't do business in June (PSR), can't do much if any in January (lack of value), and the lions share of July seems to be limited now too, awaiting the shakeout from the big clubs sprees. The middle period of August is also a difficult time to do deals with everything pushed to the final week, and a bit of a desperate scramble from the also-rans.
What does this leave, a period of mere weeks over a year?
You can't blame Everton for that, and I don't know what the answer is. It seems you do need a very well oiled machine, and have the finances backed by rigorous prep work. Perhaps the lateness of putting a recruitment team together is the issue but I don't think that explains it all.
Champions league level? Mate … we had 11 players defending for half the season …
Only Jarrod and Pickford can even be considered good enough for a CL team
