Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

And, we've so far lost:

Harrison - "crap"
DCL - "delighted he's leaving"
Doucoure - "delighted he's leaving"
Young - too old
Lindstrom
Broja - doesn't rate, barely played.
Holgate (didn't play)
Virginia (replaced)
Mangala - doesn't rate.

Hes like a kid in the playground pissing himself so that all the teachers give him attention.
Of that list only Doucoure,Young , Harrison, Lindstrom and Mangala had any game time and 3 of those were on loan .

To appease the bedwetters we could sign Brownhill on a free and that an upgrade on Doucoure . However I hope that we are looking for better quality first team replacements and then filling the squad with loans and frees.

We only know that in retrospect though. In 04 we’d just finished 17th on 39 points, sold our best player for 27 mill, sold our second best attacking option, and replaced both of them with two players from the championship for absolute pittance. It only looks like a decent summer afterwards because we came 4th. At the time we’d have been one of the favourites for relegation.

We’ll get the numbers to fill out the squad before the window is over but the first 11 even as it is now is in better state than previous seasons. I was much more worried going into the last 3 seasons than I am about this one.

that team barely survives the championship now. the game has changed.

that team also picked up 21 points from 19 games in the second half of the season and ended up on a negative goal difference. we had a tremendous start but it started to even out. it was not a good side, they got results out of sheer backs to the wall spirit and then that ran out of gas

as another poster replied too, you had 3 subs to make out of 5. so our thin squad then could just about cope. you make 5 from 10 now. we need numbers desparately

Literally every team in the football league try to do this, yes. You haven’t just come up with the idea!
I didn't think I'd come up with it. My point is, they clearly aren't doing it are they? Trying isn't doing. City are the exception. They've gone all in. I don't understand with PSR etc, why teams wouldn't make it a priority? We've literally just signed a kid for £22m, so don't tell me we're all trying to do it.

With all the new backroom staff I wonder who makes the final decision on buying new players, I still think its Moyes, hence all the delays. I would like to know what all the others do to warrant a payday at our club.

Touch harsh on that side - he found a system that got the best of the likes of gravesen, bent, kilbane, carsley. The loss of gravesen was a big factor in our tail off in form as he was the main man.

I remember going to chelsea who were flying under mourinho and it was a seriously competitive game which they only just won 1-0. I think we were on about 41 points after 19 games - not to be sniffed at by anybody
