Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

i meant long term

last year we had the likes of harrison and lindstrom to come in for ndiaye, who werent good but are at least premier league players

at the moment it would be heath or clarke
I know they were premier league players because they played in the premier league, not sure they were premier league standard though. Possibly the worst 2 wingers in the premier league last season 🤔

He'll spend most of the year getting some level of fitness back
If he was worth it he'd be staying at West Ham
not saying I'm a fan of this but can see the logic. Surely if he played today he must be relatively fit and if its a trial then even better, not fit doesnt get signed. Still don't want it to happen though....

The last example I can remember of us waiting to the last minute and getting a really great deal was when we got Lukaku. Is there a more recent example of a great last minute signing in late August?

I don't think so. That time of the window is really only for putting a cherry on an already nicely decorated cake.

It's fine to get a few loans in then, as players become available.

You have to have your main business done though.

There can be no worse sinking feeling than 7pm on deadline day, when you badly need reinforcements, and are going with what you've got.
