Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

You'd wonder what the remaining budget is. How many more £25m-£30m signings could we afford? I'd guess 2. And have funds leftover to do loan deals?

Obviously there are some funds available and it's because of that primarily I expect to see more players arriving. Just when is the case.

I imagine TFG don't provide easy sign-off on deals and they will clearly want value for money. It would be very hard to envisage funds being left unused though, on the basis they couldn't attract their targets, and couldn't find any others worth pursuing.

Unspent cash / failure to invest would be quite the irony for Moyes of all people, and would be a bad look for Kinnear. So if nothing else, I see that money, whatever it amounts to, being disposed of eventually, or the lions share of it.

And they'll be busy in the loan market but again here, deals may not be possible until very late.

TFG must be taking an interest from afar. To be a fly on the wall on their conference calls.

Talk (from some article in the last few days) is we had £150m to spend. Whether that’s cash available or how much we can stretch to PSR wise, I don’t know.

But we have spent circa £50m so far. So potentially another £100m available.

Edit. It was from The Independent.

Are you trying to say we have set our heart on a couple of palatial mansions we can’t afford and we will have to make do with a couple of run down bungalows and a garden shed in need of repair ?
When you have lived in a garden shed last year you can't expect to move to a palatial mansion the following year.

A neat neighborhood home with decent schools for the kids and a good public transport system will do nicely.

Apparently the recruitment team and kinnear go to TFG when they have identified a player and are maybe in discussions. So maybe there isn’t an actual figure of how much they have, maybe it’s a figure that keeps us under PSR??

We need to change the perception that we are a club that lose out on players to Forest, Bournemouth, even Southampton in recent times.

That does mean spending money rather than pointing to trophies from 40 years ago.

….i think that’s more about progression on the pitch and being better than we have been in recent times.

Generally we’ve been in and around those clubs in respect of league placings, we need to raise our performance level.

Don't get this at all.

If "we could have bought 6 players by now ".
Yet you say that they "wouldnt be the players we want or need"

Then why would we have them 6 players on any list?
Doesn't make sense.
I'm saying that buying players isn't difficult. There are players available that we could have bought. But we are waiting to buy the players we want. It's not rocket science.
