Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Sorry I’m confused you want us to buy a CM and RW whilst we wait for our primary targets to make a decision and then sign another CM and RW?? Sorry if I’ve missed your point but is that what you’re saying?

I’m not sure we’ve got the money to get the both of those along with ‘main’ cm and rw. I think we’ll be looking at loans for anyone not going into the starting 11

Well we need to get squad players in. So someone needs to fill that position regardless.

I was refrencing those players because i dont think they'd cost a massive outlay. Fellows has been muted at between £7-12m and luiz is a loan with a obligation so the outlay on those two wouldnt be massive this window and would leave room to bring in more expensive players.

Obviously its all a bit football manager but i still think the point is valid.

Agreed. The best players in Championship can make the step up. Question is whether we are a club that can develop players properly.

Just as an example, look at WBA and Tom Fellows last season. They had Carlos Corberan as manager. Young Spanish manager who previously have worked with Bielsa. The football wasn't always exciting, as he as a manager was obsessed with tactics and how to control matches. Lots of possession. Everything the players did at training had tactical elements. The players loved playing for him. They felt they learnt something new every day. Tom Fellows was one of several players that benefitted from playing for Corberan and had the best spells of his career.

At Christmas Corberan left WBA and was hired as the new Valencia coach.

Tony Mowbrey replaced Corberan. A well respected English manager everyone speaks highly of. Great guy. Popular among players. But it was a massive change from Coreberan being obsessed with tactics and Mowbrey's leadership that mostly was an arm around the shoulder while he asked players to go out and express themselves. Try to make something happen. The team seem lost. Players seemed lost.

Tom Fellows second half of the season was a different player from the one that started the season.

I think Moyes is a lot closer to Mowbrey than Corberan when it comes to tactics and leadership. We know that Moyes' teams plays very different from the Corberan team Fellows looked great for.
To a certain extent I take your point about our ability to develop young players , or players from lower divisions mate.
However , that concern would equally apply to young players from top divisions elsewhere.
Perfect case in point being Moise Kean.

Saw this comment on the Everton reddit page. GOOD TIMES?!

To be fair, at the time, they WERE good times. We had the best manager in history, who had persuaded a genuine world-class player to sign. Allan was very highly regarded after being a key player for Napoli. It felt like we were breaking through. Downhill very fast from there, and with hindsight, caused us serious problems. Any Evertonian who says they weren't thrilled at Carlo and James joining the club is lying.

Sources don’t exactly seem top tier but I need rumours no matter how obscure…

18 year old centre back, Veljko Milosavljević. The article says Celtic had a bid of 6m euro turned down but now Everton have made a satisfactory offer that is being considered.

Sounds made up but what do I know…

So random that mate - its prob true.

He was linked a few weeks back too, and I saw some discussion on him on a Serbian fans forum and we were mentioned. I thought it was too nerdy and obscure to post. :)

Im more impressed you were casually viewing a Serbian fan forum on Everton related research mate, ignore all my posts if this is the standard I'm up against!

Most of us just pretend to watch the Bundesliga

….think we were linked to him early in the window, it was certainly a young CB from that part of the world;
