Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Would prefer us just to get someone who can take a set piece. I find it hard to believe that no one in the Everton squad apart from McNeil can take a corner. Garner, Alcaraz Ndiaye should put some hours in on the training ground and get corners from both sides up to scratch rather than us having to buy a player specifically to take them and carry him In the team.
Douglas Luiz

Knowing how big difference it is between Premier League and Championship these days, I find it baffling how many in here that mean Everton should pay silly money for average Championship players.

The best teams with the best players in Championship have no chance to avoid relegation from Premier League. We see teams come up, spend serious money and still get relegated.

If we buy Championship players we'll end up as a Championship team within a few years.
Spot on mate.

Thing is at forest Garner was a brilliant set piece taker, what happened to that, I can only guess that two years of not doing any in training due to gravel throat.

Thank God we never bought Gyokeres from Coventry :)

There are still players in the championship and below who can make the step up if developed properly so it is not a problem to bring in one or two targeted players we believe in providing we also have cover to help us and them through the inevitable learning curve and dips in form. Obviously we cannot safely assume they will be instantly transformative and nor can we construct a whole squad from them.

Our fans wet the bed when we are linked to championship players , even though they are probably better than half the foreign players we’re linked with.
A lot of our fans would prefer a foreign player they’ve never seen or heard of, than the best player in the championship.

His lower back injury which kept him out for a fair while may not have helped either and he had another injury previous season iirc. I may have a hazy memory but sure he delivered some semi decent corners under Lampard too. He is limited granted but he showed slightly more prior to his injuries I feel.
