Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Cheers H.

Great stuff for useless transfer bingo in this one, for those playing along. We've got:

'launch an enquiry'
'sound out a potential move'
'being considered'
'high on [their] radar'
'made contact with'
'considering a bid'
'under consideration'
'viewed as an option'

All in ONE article about ONE player - that's an absolute banger pound-for-pound.

I think for Iroegbunam if he's not a viable option to play games now with the squad as it is then he likely never will be. He's not a kid, he's 22 and been around senior football for 4/5 years now. If he isn't seen as someone who's likely to get decent game time now with the paucity of options we have, it's difficult to imagine that going and spending a year at Go Ahead Eagles is going to make much difference. Note that there is an 'if' in what i'm saying though, i'm not saying he's not good enough, just that if that's how they see it I don't see a loan in Holland changing anything.

More the fact he's had a few seasons of loans in the championship already so it's kinda treading water, if he's not gonna get games here then may as well try something different -

Yeah get lost, if we are paying that sort of money then I want Bobb not McAtee.

As someone said the other day, Rico Lewis (they meant Nico O'Reilly) would be the one young kid they have brought through who id put £40mil down for.

Under Moyes guidance he could be top notch. But, hes going to stay there 10+ years.

Bobb will move on you'd think?

Controversial but I'd pay 25-30 for Mcatee and 30-35m for Elliot with very little worry about them not being comfortably worth a lot more in a years time.

Wouldnt they both play in the 10?

Only 1 Championship loan. I more just meant if he's not breaking through here this year I don't think he will. Obviously players can develop at different rates etc I get that but if he didn't make the grade at Villa and hadn't made it in 2 years here at a time when we've barely got enough players for a matchday squad, you'd have to think it's just not happening and a loan would be more about getting him in the shop window than developing him for us.

Bobb is massively rated at City still , pre injury during last pre season he was featuring a lot and looking brilliant and was the one they expected to integrate into the side. It's arguable if Mcatee would have been allowed to have moved on last season if Bobb hadn't got that bad injury.

Think you'd play them in the same positions they play for the under 21s actually

Yeah that's more what I'm suggesting, I do t think he will make it here so may as well try get him more profile with a loan to a more open league.

If he massively improves great, if he just puts up decent numbers without ironing out the flaws then at least we may have bids
